Cheers for the offers guys

I suppose the I'll take chris' as we are heading out together on the Saturday, running the same root and launching for the same places so that makes sense

CALSHOT LAUNCHING SUNDAY 29TH

Just putting this a bit further up the thread in case anyone else wants to get involved: I have booked 11 of us in so far, I can amend the booking up until 0900 Sunday Morning, but need you to tell me if your joining in. will@northernexposurerescue.org.uk or via the team scooby facebook page....

From a much earlier post:

Anyone launching at Calshot on the 29th...

I've arranged a 20% group booking discount from the Calshot Activity Centre for launching, recovery and parking on the 29th.

Any boat over 3m £13.45 for all day parking and use of the slipway. That's ANY size RIB!

Normal prices £16.80 for boats under 5.99m and £23!! for boats over 6m.

To get this deal, you have to book through me as I need to make a group booking. Either let me know you want to join in via the Team Scooby facebook page, or via email will@northernexposurerescue.org.uk

I will have to pay for all our launching in advance and will need cash on the day from you lot.

I'll be the loon in the NER Thundercat with 60L of fuel for a crew.

Will

Hi Will

I phoned Calshot today and asked about launching on Sunday. They asked me if I was part of the rib 4 macmillan event and when I said yes they quoted me the discount price and told me to pay on the day but didn't take any details?

If you want to add me to your list I'll pay you on the day if that's what they've asked you to do.

Cheers
Rob

Just me and dad came over, so we've for sure got a couple of spaces for donations if people would like them

It's our first time with the boat on the south coast, was down there all day yesterday cleaning the tubes and fitting a new GPS, then went for a quick (!) run down to Cowes in the evening

See you Sunday!

... consistent with "speed as safe navigation permits", as they say.

ABP publish a useful guide summarizing information for small boat activities in the Solent.
http://www.southamptonvts.co.uk/admi...ide-LowRes.pdf

Edit: I should add, there are areas with speed limits enforced by Byelaws, such as the Hamble River

Thanks gtb, I had seen that little pamphlet before. It was flat calm and there was no traffic so I felt the speed I was safe for navigation considering the conditions. I know it's six up the itchen and that's what I tried to keep to... Perhaps I should put it on silent for that bit next time I was watching water speed....

Great cause Whisper, I'll be there, departing from Yarmouth. Did the same trip last weekend running counter to the record slow Round the Island race - fantastic for sunbathing but not much action!

Rock 'n' roll baby!

Osiris has been cleaned, treated to a new prop and is hitched and ready to depart Cheshire at 06:00 tomorrow morning bound for Calshot and a FANTASTIC weekend with fellow nobbers raising money for a brilliant cause!

Looking forward to meeting new people, seeing MacRIB first-hand and enjoying great craic with fellow nobbers, both on and off the water.
