A letter from Macmillan that I received today, although it doesn't mention the
£1,230.62 Gift Aid Anyway, here it is...

12 July 2013

Dear Alex and friends,

Thank you so much

Thank you from everyone in the Macmillan team for passing on further donations totalling £446.20, which you raised as part of your Isle of Wight boating challenge. We hope that you had an absolutely wonderful time, and that you will pass our thanks on to everyone who supported you. The money you’ve raised, which now totals an incredible £6,513.20, will help us do a huge amount of good, as we work to make sure no one faces cancer alone.

I'm also attaching a pdf acknowledgment letter as this may be easier to share with everyone who took part.

How your money helps

To put your hard work into context, the money you raised could be enough to fund a Macmillan Nurse for around six weeks, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support when they need it most. This is a fantastic achievement – thank you so much.

To find out more about Macmillan's work and how you can get involved, please visit Campaigning and volunteering - Get involved - Macmillan Cancer Support.

Thank you again for choosing to support Macmillan. Without amazing supporters like you in our team, we simply couldn’t do what we do.

With best wishes,

Helen Morgan

My crew mate Jon who was celebrating his 50th birthday when we did round the Isle of Wight has been working hard raising money for our cause. In total Jon has raised £680 which has been sent to Macmillan as a cheque

Jon was absolutely overwhelmed with the number of boats that turned out and the amount of money that you lot have raised and being the kind hearted gent he is, he want to do his bit

Jon had just lost his mother before the cruise.

Total raised
£6,162.00
Gift Aid
£1,254.37
Cheques
£1,126.20

Grand Total = £8,542.57

Was that for Powerboat and RIB? It's probably too much of a technical challenge to edit out every mention of RIBnet!

Article Round IOW

I emailed HMS about this before the boat show when I saw the new mag was out. Simon had completed the report ages ago and I am told the report will be in the next edition.

Probably cut it altogether after all we are not advertising in the mag. That seems the only way to get a good mention

Simon has replied saying it should have been in this issue but will now be in the next one.
