Just a thought, if none of us did the cruise, but all donated our fuel cost to this amazing cause,(my mum just got her fourth year all clear). Would we not raise a shed load.

It's a great idea and I wouldn't stop anyone from doing just that however there will be some that will give because they are going, so either way will be fine I'm sure by all

It's been a year today that I lost my Dad (Ribbing buddy and best mate) from cancer, he didn't want to go into a hospice so I looked after him at home and he passed away while I held his hand.

We were helped by a local charity that provided us with nursing support and we could not have done it without them. It's been a tough year but things do get better especially when you have great friends on here

I had an email today from Macmillan to thank us for our support and to give us a sneak preview of their Not Alone campaign

Thank you all for your support.

Alex

Alex,

Went through exactly the same with my mum 9 years ago, ironically enough she used to work for macmillans giving reflexology to heir cancer patients. Indeed they do a great job.

Like Matt says, hang in there!

Brought a tear to my eye Alex. As you know, I lost my Mum in April last year as well, so totally understand what you've been through this year.

Still finalising my rota for the coming year, but it's looking like I'll be joining you round the Island again on the 26th.
Was a great day last year, now if you can just make sure the weather is equally brilliant this year!

I have a very special announcement to make!

David (Giddyup 3) has contacted me and agreed to personally pledge £150 + £37.50 gift aid. On top of that, he is the MD of Oliver Valves who specialise in offshore Oil and gas valves surface and subsea. They are heavily involved in various charitable causes including Cancer related ones , Army benevolent fund and children`s support in Uk to name but three, David said "As Macmillan is a great charity who offer such great support to so many people, really pleased that I / we could support you!! and looking forward to a fun day out dodging the yachts"! As well as Davids personal pledge he has also pledged a further whopping £350 from Oliver Valves

So a total of £500 + £37.50 gift aid = £537.50

And not only that David has offered 2 or 3 seats on his 2013 Technohull Seadna 999 10.3 mtr x 2.8 mtr rib named "Giddyup 3" which has twin Yamaha 300 outboards and made 80 Mph with Adam younger. It has a twin step hull that means it turns very tight with little or no hull slip!

If you would like to take up David on this offer then please contact him via PM with your best offer of a donation

Total raised
£965.00
Gift Aid
£137.62

Grand total = 1,102.62

Idea.....as the number of boats is due to be lots...and lots....how about I give 5 pound per boat I get to drive?....that could add a reasonable/big amount?....

I promise not to break anything...hopefully I know what I'm doing?....
