I have made a bid which was overtaken by Paul, seriously thinking of raising it tomorrow.

Great day with great people and some very nice photos.

It was scorchio and Pete7's fridge was a stroke of genius. Ice creams in Ventnor and Beer in Alum Bay anyone would think we had been out on a gin palace!!

Looking forward to next weekend and The Predicted Log.

It sounds like I missed out on a great day! What time did you pass compton? I was there from about 2 till 5 and was looking out for you all but didn't see anything! How close did you come in? I'll definately be up for it if you go again!

Bit of drama on the beach today. Several people pulled a man from the water next to us who then lay on the beach not moving for ages. They then started mouth to mouth and did this for 15minutes before the paramedics arrived. We all then had to clear the beach for the lee-on-solent chopper. We thought he would hover and have the man winched up (cos the tide was right up) but no, the pilot very skillfully dropped the chopper onto the beach not 10feet from the cliff face and maybe 20 yards from where we were standing. Great respect goes the the chopper guys, they were down and off in under a 2 minutes. Lets hope the man was ok, I have no idea what happened though.

Hope you all had an excellent day.

Tim

Hi Tim,

We cut straight from St Kathleen's point to the needles about 4 pm so would have been a mile or two off shore.

a similar thing happened to me a few years back, we where diving down to get him after someone saw he was in trouble and went below surface. Took us 5 mins to locate him by which it was too late.

Not a pleasent thing really especially for the family if they where on the beach also. Hope we recovers

I'm afraid I have since heard that the man was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Mary's hosital on the Island.

A brief report can be seen here:

http://www.iwcp.co.uk/ViewArticle2.a...ticleID=850546

Bit scary really cos me and my friends were swimming about in the same rip the guy was pulled out of just minutes after we got out of the water. It was worrying the amount of people there that were unaware of the very strong rip in that area...lots of kids in rubber rings not knowing why they were rapidly drifting out to sea.

Maybe its got something to do with....

When you upload the photos, you are given the choice of two "submit post" buttons (or whatever they say). If you choose the one under the details of the attachments as opposed to the one under the text you have written it should post. I'm not sure but I reckon if you click the one below the text it will only post text and not the pics?
