Round the Island Race

Anyone else out & about on Saturday? The weather looks good for ribbing, if not for sailing!

Cheers

Send a message via Yahoo to Noddy
We are down for the weekend-arriving tomorrow - launching at Calshot but searching for best location to watch the fleet review.

We will be setting off from the hamble around 10ish and am aiming to do a lap of the island - gonna try to catch up the big early starting yachts but if there is much wind they will proabably beat us back to Cowes.

Forecast looks peachy! (for ribs )

If there is any wind, they could be back at Cowes before you leave the Hamble!

Best to do your lap the "wrong way round" just in case

Hope to see you out there.

Cheers.

Ian.

Ian - I think you are right, going other way is best. No way can I get organised and get up early enough to see them start!

Jackeens, enjoy your cruise tonight - I have some domestic chores to do

Actually it might be an idea to bring a picnic and anchor up in Alum Bay or Osborne Bay....?

It's always on Ray!

Ye probably have no reception over there in Bembridge

It's absolutely Mediterranean out there...'twill take the saily boats forever to get round the IOW !!!!

The Folly was serene last night and we had a lovely trip over with Tony & Howard. Met Martin of Team Scooby Doo so good luck today lads!!!!

Going to try to make the most of this beautiful day...meeting some peeps to the East of Eden first and then we'll have a look at the saily boats.

Catch up with you later Ray, Brambles Ian, mebbe see Martyn & Ann and discuss vantage points for Fleet Review. We'll be looking out for Hightower and Olly prop testing and pmorgan & Roy Smith it looks like a great day for Alum Bay (round from Yarmouth) or Osborne Bay (round from Cowes).

Our no. is above...we'll ring you in a while Brambles

Us (ironing the swimming togs )

Had a brilliant morning, cruised through the fleet up to Gurnard then anchored at Newtown for a very early lunch, then down and around to Scratchells bay and beyond before swimming at Alum bay.
Weather excellent but very calm, saw at least one yacht hit the Varvassi, and the Red Jet scenic cruise box him self in amongst very slow moving waafis.
Had to be back in by 2pm and didnt see any Ribnetters I recognised.
Crew both filled up data cards with pics so hope to post some soon.
