Sanda - Wednesday 18 July 2007

The Grocer and Mrs. Grocer (plus 2 self-loading cargo) hope to be trundling in the general direction of the Byron Darnton on the above date (assuming I've read the wall planner correctly this time, as well as the met. charts... ).

If anyone within range wants to join us, we'll be leaving Lamlash round about 1030-1130 BST, ETA Sanda 1200-1300 BST.

Unless I've finally received and fitted the new prop., in which case we may arrive before we set off.

Or something.

Oh, fenders out - Mrs. G. says she's driving this time

Pity no other replies received, looked like a fairly adventurous trip! The Corriewreckan/Irish guys called in there - see that thread for photos - looks abit like the Falklands tho!

Any way hope it went Swimmingly (praps not?) keep up the push for Clyde ribbers.

Went to the Clyde festival - by car !!!!!! - a few ribs about but no concerted precence - pity, agen. maybe next year?

Hope to get out from Largs or locally to Bute or Alsa Craig or North Arran or anywhere!!!! in the next few weekends - said that 2 months ago!

Have a good 1.

Just got back in...

...cracking day, thanks.

Seas calm, sky blue, beer wet.

Some guys from NI arrived on a jolly in a Redbay Stormforce 11m. Nice piece of kit, even had a bedroom

No photos yet (our batteries ran down) but the pax. have promised us the use of their datacard - if there's anything suitable I'll post them

Now, where's the sunburn cream...

Good to see you are getting out and about....

Went over to Lochranza two weeks ago, round Bute, the week before that, and out again last night.....

I'm amazed how few folks are out on any given day.....I'm usually chewing my leg off to get back on the water.

Very strange conditions last night off Cumbrae, cause of the earlier thunder and torrential rain, the whole area was full of debris and large logs, and the water was brown up to 2 miles offshore. It was like being up the Amazon!

Hope to be over you direction in the next month

...and a few more.

The thing to bear in mind is that Kilmarnock was dissolving at the time. Shame really.

1) The lighthouse and natural arch.
2) Sheep Island, home on the horizon
3) The Bay, the Byron Darnton and 2 RiBs.
4) The lighthouse from the wet side...

(For those interested in such things, http://www.sanda-island.co.uk will tell you more. Eventually.)
