Sark 28 & 29 July 2010
Following on from the Alderney Floptilla 2010 thread, would there be any interest in a camping trip to Sark immediately after the Solent run?
http://www.sark.info/index.cfm?fusea...ntent&cmid=614
It is the start of the school holidays so we have thought the mid-week might be good.

Yes!
Perhaps some details of camping arrangements on Sark will be helpful, and of course anchoring now that they've decided to be even more insular and remove some visitors buoys. If I find some links I'll post them up.

I hear there are now some visitors' buoys in Dixcart Bay. I like the moorings in Havre Gosselin myself; it's quite sheltered there.

For us It would be good to run to Sark Sunday - probably to co-incide with with the Floptilla leaving Alderney, and stay a few nights before heading back to Southampton - all weather dependent of course!

I'd like to do Sark as well, but I need to tag it on the end of the Alderney trip i.e. Alderney Fri/Sat/Sun then Sark Mon 26 & Tue27 then back to IOW on the Tuesday, but I would like to do this in company if thats possible. Regards Chris

Hi Chris
That fits in with our plans - so I guess we'll firm up on timing and where to go (ie where to aim for on Sark) whilst on Alderney on Fri/Sat/Sun.

Thought I should put my hand up on this thread so as to be kept in the loop, I have only shown interest in this from the other thread so far, but we are definitely up for this still and look forward to exploring Sark
I would have thought that it would make obvious sense to have it follow directly on from the Alderney trip if there is actually still any debate over this?

I think Erin is flexible on dates, we are the only ones that would have to wait until Wednesday but may well come along for a day trip anyway.

Useful contact number for those going to Sark, the moorings are looked after by Andy Leaman, his mobile is 07781400447

Just a quick question... what are you all planning on doing on Sunday when zee iiingliish are going home?
I thought maybe cruise up with them for a few miles then break of and go for lunch in Cherbourg might be an idea?

Fuel Costs....should we fill up at Alderney or Guernsey?
If all goes to plan and we end up at Sark - as this isn't far from Guernsey does anyone know if we will be better off (cost wise) fuelling up in Guernsey or Alderney?
I think last year Alderney was at about 96p and Guernsey was about 65p - but as we filled up in Alderney maybe my Guernsey price was just fantasy.

Roadside price here at the moment is 119p.
The last price I paid in St Peter Port (Boatworks+) was 79p.
