Saturday, March 14th - Solent Blast
A few of us are planning on getting out for a blast on the 14th of march.
The rough plan it to head from the itchen, down to poole and then back to and up to cowes maybe making some stops elsewhere (lymington/mudeford/yarmouth) for a curry/pub grub at the anchor.
Any one else up for coming?

I should be up for this . Main boat back in the water end of Feb so this can be a good 1st 'proper' run of the year for it.
Tides look good to get in & out of Mudeford for me too ! Hope the weather improves by then to something a bit warmer .

I was hoping to make it, but recent unemployment is stopping me from lining Gordon's pockets for a while
If things change then, YES....I'm up for it!

Poole Quay isn't much of a trip for me (barely a mile!) but the tides for getting back into the marina are good to be able to accompany you at least part of the way back - say to Yarmouth or Cowes if its there for lunch. I'll need to be back in the Marina by 5.00 or wait until 7.45. So count me in.

Depending on what time you're planning on leaving Drivers Ben, might be up for this as well as I fancy the run to Poole again... but won't be able to get down there until at least 10.30 so may not happen...
David - when are the speed limits back in force in Poole harbour?

You made good time back to Enfield!
Speed limits come back in on 1 April so you're still OK in March.

I have not been into Poole this season with the limit off yet, so will plan on joining you off Christchurch for a quick blast across the bay.
If you can, let me have an approx time for this, on the day is ok.
Steve

Saturday, is the only day I can do really, doesnt look all that windy on saturday, but I agree sunday does look better.
Might change the plans and go down to the needles for a play, and yarmouth for a drink, and back to cowes for food or something like that

So - is it reasonable to suggest If I am at Hurst at 11.30 you will be around that area - either heading to Needles / Poole/ Mudeford ?
Does this allow everyone to get to boat/ fuel etc in good time ?
Can always stop at Yarmouth / Mudeford / Poole for food/ drink around 12.30 ( depending on where people end up ) and be back home in good time ( and tide for me )
Pete
