When I looked at going last year even the bloody campsite was fully booked!

But year - look at the time to try to find something/cancellations or camp….

I know I haven't!....
Camping on lovely Bhryer is a great bet
Just make sure you book a mooring and take a Tender which will make life far easier.
Good luck with the Trip this year Rick

Hi RickW, I'm still planning on the 6th Aug, we do have accommodation booked for a week but yes its pretty hard to get some at the mo. Be really interested to hear how you get on. I still need to work out parking a trailer in Penzance for a week. That's todays job.

There is a Facebook Group called “isles of Scilly late availability accommodation’

I just put up a post there and someone gave me availability for this week at three separate places

Best of luck for your trip

Hi RickW,
Did you make the Scillies this week? If you did I would love to pick your brains about the trip. I'm still tentatively looking at the 6th Aug but its looking like a bumpy crossing. Cheers Phil 07964660203

Well I'm here and can throughly recommend the effort. Left Minehead at 0500 towing Sandy, Penzance at 0900, the Mermaid Inn in St Mary's for a pint at 1400. Trip took 2 and a half hours average speed 14 knots. Bit of an Atlantic confused swell in the shipping lanes. Now to explore and try very hard not to hit any rocks.

Didn't it just -- we were diving the Scylla, flat calm on the way out, f5 wind and nasty short waves for the 5m dive boat.

I remember watching Scylla being scuttled from Whitsand Bay cliffs. Think it was 2003.
