AGGGGHHHHHHH !!!!!
Looks like the weather is tuning shity - I knew you can never trust these long range forecasts.
I think we are going to have to do it on Saturday (Christmas eve)
There is no way of telling how that mish mash of stuff out in the Atlantic is going to pan out next week. Metcheck have completely changed there mind on it all and show the Thursday to have force 4 or 5 Northerlies.
The only other choices are to sit and wait and hope we get something nice later on in the week or to just go anyway regardless of the wind.
What does everybody else think.

Roy
I was always in this as a fair weather sailor so if the weathers breaking down and you can go Xmas eve I'd say go for it.
I'll be really sorry to miss out but perhaps I'll take a run closer to home during the week.
Jeff

Personally, I'd rather take a chance on next week. Xmas eve is just gonna make Xmas Chaos. The kids would be a bit miffed if I clear off the day before the big day!

I'm making the call, I'm going to go tomorrow (Saturday - Christmas Eve)
For the following reasons.
1. Weather looks unpredictable after Saturday.
2. After checking with my crew they have cleared Christmas Eve with there missus'.
3. My Son wants to come with us so that reduces baby sitting problems with me.
4. Tides are in our favour for the launch window. (means recovery will be at low tide but I wont be in a hurry then).
I would love for you guys to come too - but Ill understand if its not you that wears the trousers and your not allowed to go.
Shaggy - If Mollers really isn't allowed out then your are welcome on Voyager with us.
Please can I have a show of hands as to who is comming and who isnt - Thanks.

Hi Roy
Thank you for your offer, but it sounds like you got enough crew on your boat already; you don’t need a crowded boat on the first trip
Makes sense to take this window; great day today very little wind, sea state from Porthcurno looks good.

If Mollers cant make it, then safe passage and look forward to the photos and report.
Shaggy listening html and smtp channel Rib.net out.

I'm taking 5 on my boat (as that's how many inboard seats I have and how many life jackets I own)
I have yet to offer the 5th seat to anyone - so your welcome to it before I start ringing around to find my 5th crew member.
I'm still hoping Mollers will see sense and join in though, as an additional boat would be nice - not essential but nice.
I will wait till Mollers replies before I start calling around.
Kernow - it looks like a fine day - is there no chance you can re-arrange your diary.
Randski - what about you, are you in.
gingercoastie - are you still not tempted.
CrackyChris - The date is now set - can you make it.
Any other Cornish or other wise Ribsters - nows your chance for great trip in what looks like will be fine weather.

Sorry Guys. I was right up for the trip, but Xmas eve would be a bit rough on Esther and the kids. Put me down for the next one.

No worries Bob - I anticipated you being up for this trip so I went and filled the tanks - I will have 40 litres which you can stick in your tank when we get to the Islands if you wish.
I can either strap the 2 tanks somewhere in my boat or if you've got the storage space you can stow them in yours.
Ive been waiting to do this trip for a loooong time. OInly 15 hours more to wait.
Best get the cameras on charge see you at 8am...

Spoke to Bob at 12.30, safely ensconsed in a St.Marys pub, sandwich in one hand, pint in the other profesing that life doesn't get much better!
Saw dolphins near the Minack, lovely conditions cruised out at about 25 kts.
Sounds like a fantastic trip, full details and pics to follow I would imagine.

Fantastic day out - those of you that chose not to come really missed out
There was about 2m high but long wavelength swell rolling under us but 0 wind so the waves were like glass which really meant you struggled to realise how fast you were going.
Seven Stones lightship was fairly interesting to see (having taken data from it to help decide when to go out and not for so many years).
The food is fantastic at the Mermaid - especially when washed down with a beer or 3...
Stopped at wolf rock lighthouse for some more pics on the way back.
I think I've got some great video footage - but I haven't checked it out yet - but if it has come out good - ill stick it up online and post a link here.

2. Seven Stones Light Ship
3. Bob and Sue and the Lightship
4. Strange looking rocks on the Scilly Islands
