Scotland trip in September 2014

I've just completed booking accommodation for a two-week trip to Scotland in the autumn.

If any fellow nobburs are in the vicinity of:

Loch Sunnart 6th -13th Sept (hoping to get round to Tobermory sometime during the week if the weather allows)

Loch Lomond 15th -20th Sept

it would be good to meet up

Thanks Chris

As ever, I researched RIBnet for fellow nobburs' experiences at locations ooop north and we've managed to secure the lochside holiday cottage owned by the Resipole campsite owners, just a couple of hundred yards from the slipway/campsite so looking forward to a hot bath each evening!

We'll then have a couple of days in Oban before heading down to Culag Lochside Guest House on Loch Lomond, another place highly recommended by many on here, including your good self!

Looking forward to it already

I'm just trying to adjust to the fact that I'm planning and booking things months in advance compared to the spur-of-the-moment existence I've had hitherto!

Unfortunately il be on the hill shooting Stags from the first week in Sept or I would've blasted down to Sunart.

If you are going to Oban then Tony Hill is worth a shout at Easdale Seafari, if guided Rib tours aren't your thing and you would rather be piloting then im sure he will point you in the right direction, top bloke and willing to help.

funnily enough we stayed in one of the cottages at Resipole, had an excellent week, very comfortable and close to the bar

Culag is very nice, and excellent boating facilities, great location for exploring the Loch, don't forget to register before you go much easier than messing about when you're up there, especially sticking your numbers on

A few days in Oban - head to Easdale

If you are looking for a few days whilst in the Oban area then do come to Easdale. Many RIBs visit with groups staying in Oban. The comments are then - if only we had known we would have stayed here.
Accommodation - get in touch with Trish at Garragh Mhor Bed and Breakfast accommodation near Oban, Scotland - Garragh Mhor,
you can put the boat in Easdale Harbour - very sheltered.
Seafari the local RIB tour company are happy to offer advice.
There are 2 x pubs/restaurants overlooking the sea.

Details of RIB trips in the area from Easdale RIB Rendezvous - Home
or search Easdale RIB Rendezvous in the cruising section to get opinion on the cruises that have been done.
There are many great trips for all levels of experience irrespective of the weather.

Thanks for the heads-up Tony.

We're booked into the Alt na Craig guest house in Oban for a couple of nights between our Loch Sunart and Loch Lomond weeks and look forward to exploring your neck of the woods in and around Easdale next Spring, hopefully joining the annual Easdale Ribnet event.
