Hey Jeff.. you can sit your missus down .. get a dram out .. and show her your adventure ..this is the final part ..there is no more from me after this one..it is all memories now.
If you have enjoyed watching our adventure.. do consider coming along next year. This was the third Scottish SIB outing on this forum.. and I am sure most folks have enjoyed them. I hope to attend the next one too.
Until then ..
Best Regards
The gurnard

If you search the forum you'll find the history of these trips and the discussion around this topic. Really is more about Small than Soft and being happy cruising at <20mph, and enabling the smallest boats feel comfortable going further than you might alone. Whilst they have become an annual habit (nice work HH picking up the mantle) there is nothing to stop anyone just picking a date and a venue and seeing who comes along.
I'm glad you all had a great time - whoever organised the weather on the last day did well! I was engaged in my own wee waterborne wild camping adventure myself but with human power rather than engines.

And that's it??? I still can't believe its over! To quote Arnie "I will be back!". And next year I will have a proper backing plate under my engine. And I will enjoy it all the more. Although its hard to imagine even more enjoyment than I had on this trip. Fabulous. And thanks again to everyone involved, but especially HH for making the arrangements, and Gurnard for recording it all in his own style. (And Jeff for the image of that toilet tent!!!)

Cracking footage,,,, ,
Got some more pictures,
Have to admit the stretch of water off Lismore Light House tested me and the boat,,,,, my description would be like being in a washing machine.
Will hopefully be back for more.

Gutted I couldn't make it this year, and I'm ashamed to admit the SIB has only had one outing this year also... soon to be fixed by 3 weeks by the sea!
Great videos G, really captures the trip well and makes me even more envious, hopefully next year!

I have just watched the Videos and read quite a lot of the thread and it has made me feel all serene and relaxed. Many thanks for that Gurnard. It looked like an amazing trip and one I would love to attend. I am well south though in Suffolk but that does not mean that I will not very seriously think about it.
Gurnard I think you deserve a camera drone you would realy enjoy it and could take some amazing Ariel video

Dennis, I traveled up last year from Cambridge so if you're considering for 2018 I wonder if we can grab a van and do a bit of shared driving up with our boats in the back?
Perhaps keep that in the back of the mind for next year

It was a 720 mile round trip for me but worth it the van idea is spot on you can keep driving then and somewhere to sleep when you get there, we arrived Friday night set the boats up slept in the car ready for an early start/ launch on Saturday

Just did a quick Google, that would be over 1000 miles round trip for Dennis, luckily his only route goes past my front door so he can pick me up in the van

Very good idea but I think if I went I would go for a longer period and stay up there. Possibly even take the caravan or the speed boat as well as the SIB

So after this outing do you chaps feel that the Honwave T35 AE (3.5 M) is on the small side for this type of trip. What do you consider the best size. I sort of want to double it up as my tender to my boat on a swing mooring so much bigger is kind of large for that purpose. Or should I just have 2 and go for the 4 m for this sort of thing and kepp my 3.2 as the tender

The Honda 3.5 would be fine. Kaman was there in Yr 1 and this year with his. A young guy was there with something even smaller last year. He has difficulties when he tried to take a friend and two people's stuff but was ok on his own.
