I know. Have bought another sea kayak so I've been out about 8 times since I've had it.
Good for my health kick.

Hi HH
As discussed ..my boat is ready and I am ready.. so I hope to be there.
However .. Friday afternoon I start treatment at the outpatients of local hospital for a faulty liver. Assuming this doesn’t knock me for six.. I will be there..if it has side effects..I wont.
I cant commit either way until Friday evening. I will text you in the evening. At least the boat will be lighter as I wont have my normal gallon of gravy for ballast .. just a wee nip or two instead.

Hi Jeff..dont be worried about the tide at the slip..it ends on good firm sand. I have often launched and recovered there at low tide. Some drive cars with hardshell boats onto the sand. I don't but its an easy push for a SIB on a trailer..and I have a long rope to keep car on ramp for recovery..which is again an easy push anyhoo.
Car park charges in those days was about £1 ..its been a year since I was last there but cant see it being any more than £2 a night ? There is toilets and a burger van on site too..but not sure if the burger van will be open in the morning

thanks gurnard long time since i launched there memory not so good i'll put it in early any how when it's well up the ramp i'll get my boat ready to launch on friday night so it's just cover off and away.
if anyone needs me to launch with my 4x4 just give me a shout although the ramp was very clean last time i was up so normal car will manage but offer there any how.
does anyone know if the garage [esso] on the way in from connel is open early as they do good bacon & egg sarnies + tea /coffee if the burger van is not there.or will we cal at lochaline cafe.

I always take enough for an hours burning..so perhaps someone can bring some too. Usually driftwood on the shores but can never guarantee.
Weather looking ok..and if it stays as forecast ..there is a lovely sandy shore to land and camp at on Ardnamurchan peninsula.
I can no longer link to my photos..or would have posted one to let you see how nice it looks. I wont post my photos direct to site.

I should have space for a bag of sticks. Planning to blow torch a mug for a cuppa, and will have some foil to put any macky caught on the fire, but otherwise will be cold pie and cheese supper... Not taking big tent cos its a right bugger to pack if it gets wet, but small tent or bivvy bag will keep me toastie warm.and air bed will keep me off rocks. Weather forecast has improved a lot from long range, but will need to keep an eye on it...looking forward to meeting you all.

I'll try and find room for some wood on my wee 3.5m Honwave.
I'm also bringing some mosquito coils to try and deter the local midgies!

Hahahaha, 10 out of 10 for forward thinking but you could make better use of the space by packing a nice bottle of Jura.

Ha ha! Yup your probably right A1an.
From previous experience a good smokey fire and burning mosquito coils deals with a good percentage of the little barstewards - however the extra hungry ones require a 12 bore or a baseball bat!

Well I said I'd only believe my mate was coming when he is in the car with me,,,,,, got a birthday party to go to on Saturday.
So its just me and some fire wood. Will be up there Friday afternoon and will look for an island to go and camp on. I'll try not to burn all the wood.

Yup Big Al C I have a mate exactly like that - very annoying!
I'll be heading up Saturday morning ready to hit the brine at 10 am. I'll see how the weekend / weather pans out, I may well head off for another nights camp on Sunday night if anyone is up for it? Packed some fire wood too hopefully my Sib is buoyant enough to float with all my gear and my fat arse onboard😀 .

I'm not travelling from as far afield as Wigan but definitely want to make the most of my journey north. Roll on Saturday.

The 10yr old Laphroaig would probably do a better job & you can use it to light the campfire too[emoji57]
