I have had some great times in small RIBs, Gemini inflatables and such like - but all sadly a long time ago - and not with my other half onboard - which can be somewhat limiting. She would prefer a hamble launch and nice run to the Folly for a crew pot - but we will see what the weather brings - currently seems to be deteriorating somewhat

Sorry Nos
Having been picked for the squads, both smaller Nashers now have Rugby matches on Sat, so we're unable to come.
Unfortunately they are so early in the year that the Masters are still honing their squad. If you get picked and don't play you sometimes get left out later on. Its a bit annoying really, but a place in the rugby squad at their school has lots of benefits in other areas of school life.
Nasher.

One down, one up. Will be attending the "curise" although we dont have a Searider.
Our plan is to launch from Calshot around 0930-1000 and zip round to the Lightship for 1030. May well meet up with those from Hamble either as they pass Calshot or en-route.
Will be listening out on Ch77
Regards

Matt, can you post an updated summery (a reminder) of whats happening and when and where it's happening please.
Looking at the tide times, I won't be launching untill 11:30 at the ealiest as high tide is 15.15 in the afternoon, so might well have to catch you guys up if you leave too early

I'll be back at no later than 18:15 as I can't recover the boat after this time. I'm very easy about what happens thoughout the afternoon. Perhaps I'll shoot out to Nab tower, as I haven't done that for many years. I don't think I'll go around the Island, but one never knows

Meet up at the Lightship around 10.30-11. Drink coffee/beer for half an hour then depart around 11.30 if poss so Andy and Larry can get afloat then (weather depending) run round to Ventnor for lunch or the Folly if it's too rough for all of us to go round the back of the island.
Weather forecasts so far are looking pretty good and haven't changed either so a ssume we're going to Ventnor when you fuel up.
Please be aware there may be a boat with divers down en-route to Ventnor. Give anything flying the A flag a VERY wide berth.
Everyone's welcome but it'd be nice to get as many Seariders in one place as possible.
We usually use ch77 to contact each other.
For those who aren't local,,
The lightship is here
Ventnor is here
The Folly is here.

Not that I've looked for-it's a bit shallow on the way in but there should be plenty of water by the time we get there. Don't hug the seafront before the entrance-from what I remember there's a few submerged rocks there but as long as you come in from the SE there's nothing to worry about apart from keeping an eye on the depth.
There's a pub type thing just here:-
http://www.flashearth.com/?lat=50.59....3&r=0&src=msl
that did good food at a reasonable price last time I was there and various chippies if people are so moved along the seafront.

Not sure who that was directed at, the harbour master didnt even look around to shout slow down, no one was making any wash either, grumpy bugger
A cracking day and the food at the folly was really good too, cant wait to visit there again.
