September 2006
I've got a few weekends off in September. Namely 9/10 Sept and 16/17 Sept. Any body got any plans for cruising in the Solent area over that period.
I'm hoping we get some decent weather during this time.
I've also had a poor year so far at sea so need to make up for lost time.
I was planning to go on the London cruise but that seems to have died a death and I think the tides are all wrong.

Okay,
Looks like Saturday September 9th is going to be a good day with low winds. Anyone any ideas.
I'm up for the channel islands but would really need to do it in one day. Because one of my passengers is back to work on the Sunday.
Also I have no idea what we would need to go to the Channel islands so would really need someone with more experience to take the lead on that one.
Would even go to Portland or Brighton. I don't care really would just like to go in company for a nice day out, visit places I haven't been before and talk boats.
If the Channel Islands is the preferred option might have to ditch my mate working on the Sunday !!

Ditchin yer mate...thats a bit harsh !
Couldnt you squash him into the forward locker - the extra ballast would probably improve handling in heavy weather ?

I'm launching at Southampton about 1030 hrs. After faffing around I hope to be at Calshot by at least 1200 hrs. Earlier hopefully.
Then its off to the Lightship in Pompey Docks for a coffee.
Then clockwise round the IOW. Possible stops for food etc are Ventnor or Yarmouth. See how the time goes.
Taking piccies of various spots along the way and visiting Freshwater bay because my mate went there as a kid and also looking at the Needles.
No time limits just going to see how it goes.
Hopefully it will be smooth for once.
Anybody welcome. Lookout for a Yellow RIB possibly flying a Large Union Jack, If I've got the bottle to fly it, given its not good etiquette to do that sort of thing.
Callsign Zerstorer or Biggles. Listening on Channel 77.
Regards Nick.

You can fly any flag you want as a " Battle Flag" as long as you fly the red duster also. This does not include entering a foreign port, when a "courtesy flag"should be flown. I think I am correct but will accept any corrections.
Regards to all.

I do fly any flag I want. Usually a RIBnet Burgee and a St. Georges Cross. I don't think that there be a problem Oh ahh with a Skull and Cross Bones.....I've never had any funny comments and skurvey that see's the flag always give a smile.
I do however think that there are a few serious boaters out there that take things a little bit too far with their veiws, but as a whole nobody I've encountered ever minded.
