Sat 1st June Portland Castletown......12.21 high tide so 10.30 launch sounds good

low water 17.20 so if your recovering anything 5m + 16.00 would be late enough, unless you have 4wd and or winch as slip.

post code of the Hotel Aqua next to slip is DT5 1BD

you may be VERY lucky and find parking on the road.
there is pay and display next to slip. (small)
I have found a free car park 300m away where divers leave car and trailer.(make sure you have trailer wheel lock)
you could negotiate a fee with clarks boatyard next door for the day.

High Trevor, good spot on the BST!

perhaps 10.30 is a little early maybe add 1/2 hour to that, that said if their are a few of us, and we have a tow rope (i have) we will be fine.

recovery would move to 5.00pm at the latest if you have 5m+

sibs and small ribs will be fine as long as we help each other.

We're still up for it and, from speaking to them at the weekend, so might be Oscarguitar from Poole with us (if, like us, his RIB can be counted as an honorary SIB for the day) and Trevor G from Poole or possibly even further East for him.

I'll liaise with them about meeting up but, because of the tides in our marina, Oscarguitar and I will need to leave either before 10.00am (in which case we'll get to Lulworth about the same time as you're launching) or after 12.00 (in which case we won't arrive until just after 1.00pm).

The latter is probably preferable since it would still leave time to have lunch at Lulworth, pop across to Durdle Door with sufficient water for anyone intrepid enough to go under the arch (which I've done once before without damaging my gearbox so won't be chancing it again!)

Oscarguitar and us will need someone to tender us ashore, however, so let me know if you have other plans/timings!

David

I may well be out and about that day depends upon the weather, it is also round the island race day so i may pop out and see some of that. I will take some pics of you all if I spot you, not sure if im intending to go all the way. Be warned depending upon weather and tide / tidal race states the overfalls by St Aldhelms can be rather nasty especially if you havn't experienced them before so consider going a few miles out to miss them if its an issue or look up how to go on the inside of them. Not for the faint hearted if they are running in a enormous heap of 3 metres or higher walls of water with huge force behind them ... not to put you off of course just plan well and keep well.
