Small boat outing Largs

A few of us are having a long weekend camping trip setting off from Largs on Thursday pm/Friday am (Sept 5/6). Returning Monday 9th on the evening tide.

We have a few possible camp sites depending on conditions. Bute, Loch Striven etc. The plan is to camp in one spot and spend some time fishing/lobster potting/chilling and some exploring by boat without having to pack up camp every night.

We have both sibs and a small rib going so its open to all craft that are able to plane and stick with us on the trip.

Shouldn’t be huge mileage but it’s surprising how it adds up.

If anyone would like to come along you’d be welcome. Usual caveats, you are responsible for your own safety etc. If you have any questions Pm me or pop them in this thread.

Trip will of course be weather permitting.

Hi Gazzago ..I would have gone this trip except Im just back from four days doing the exact same area. It is lovely and plenty sheltered places to explore if the wind gets up ..as you know.

Lots of mackerel around too.. I only fished for half an hour and got fed up chucking them back. Loads of small ones but the bigger boys are there too. Plenty porpoise chasing them and gulls diving to give there locations away

Fingers crossed for good weather for your trip ..we enjoyed a dry and often sunny few days.

Enjoy your trip..and perhaps the next time I will come along...its just too soon after my recent visit.

Cheers Donny

I wasn’t able to get the time off work to join you on that trip hence trying to fit in one last trip of the year on my days off.

Let’s hope the Mackerel keep jumping onto the hooks [emoji1303] and we get some decent weather.

Hopefully see you on a trip next year.
