Well I did manage to get out today, Friday. I wasn't intending to but the sun was just too nice to miss. I had an hour thrashing around in Hayling Bay. Very slight swell but nothing to worry about. Before I left I was warned that Chimet was showing a Force 5. It certainly didn't feel like it.

When I drove down to the seafront in the evening the water was very calm. Even saw a dark blue RIB, about 5.5 m, pulling a water skier along the front of Hayling.

Anybody here ? If so I can send you some piccies.

Regards Nick R.

Hiya Nick!

It was brill today...Paul & Robin couldn't resist the warm weather and headed out earlier Then we met Tony and Howard & Craig (another Craig ) and shot across to Cowes. The temperature was fantastic and the breeze just blew away work

Lovely to see some great peeps and it must be summer because we made it to The Globe where the crews had Irish cappucinos

Coming home on the silky sea was ....

magic

Pompey looked all glam and sparkly

With regards the weather forecasts, and dare I say this, but has anybody noticed that the Solent waters have been a lot calmer than the forecasts have suggested.

Even with the high wind speeds the seas haven't really been that bad.

Just an observation.

Seems conspiracy between Thor and Baldur in Valhalla to keep summer away from all of us, freezing 3 degrees this morning so probably need to wear wool jumper, wool trousers, wool hat and wool thermal gloves going out boating in the morning

That would explain SotonMet recording a wind speed of 144.5 knots the other day..

26/05/2005,20:35,144.5,005,373.0,00.0,00.0,.0,192.00,0.00,0.00,0.00,0.0

It was an enjoyable evenings ribbing.. Great company, good food and an excellent view..

Yip.

Dont like the look of solentmet and F7!

Will see what the afternoon brings and maybe out for dinner again.

For those of you around tomorrow, winds are forecast to be lighter but with more clould around.
