Depending upon how you look at it, that's either a good or a bad choice of weekend. I will double check, but I think that's the end of 'Alderney Week' which is a week of various entertainement and fun for mainly families. The harbour will be very busy, the hotels and campsite will be pretty much full, but there shoudl be a great atmosphere. I think there is also a Channel Islands sailing regatta going on as well. If it's a good spell of weather I'll see you there, if I can find you amongst 2,000 visitors
Keith

On the mainland we that these things called Mobile Telephones, you can text (write to each other) or even speak to other people too, if you're feeling brave
That sounds great Keith, I'm sure they'll be able to fit in another couple of RIBs. I'm up for camping, have you a back garden

Bad choice of weekend, on my opinion then. I vote to knock it on a week.

Yep, but my back garden is in Jersey which won't be much use for an Alderney trip. I could speak to my parents however (Alderney residents) but I wouldn't hold out much hope

Well just done a quick recce for you. On Saturday evening (26/7) every visitors mooring bouy was taken and most had yachts doubled up on them. In addition there was probably 50 yachts at anchor in the harbour. So if you coming bring a big anchor and lots of chain.

And it won't get any better for a few weeks yet either. There's always space though. I've seen 4 yachts per buoy in the past.
Was that you arriving on Sat eve then? My other half said she saw a number of ribs coming in when she popped down the harbour. Fantastic sea state wasn't it.

Well I'm still interested, however things might be a little tight next weekend as I've Two birthday partys to organise and a holiday to sort over the next 3 weeks.
If everyone decides to go over the 9-10th then I might have to make a last minuite decision not to go.
