Glad all got home safely ( in the end)
Thanks for a lovely day - boys enjoyed the Armada - but got quite cold , so apologies if we peeled off early to get them home
Looking forward to more of these!

Finally home !
Another great day when the jump leads were seen .
Just to clarify ..I dont break the power steering, The MOB was recovered ( who ever it was - not 'us' I'd add) I dont know why 'Never Enough' didn't have enough electricity, and defo dont know why there is a pinhole leak in Madness....
I do however have a an epic 'RIBnobber' moment on camera....
Good work all ....and for a moment or two Whisper was so so happy to be ahead of Hot lemon in a 'race' ...until Hot Lemon got going and was off out in front
Seriously thanks to all - Another £5 in the pot as I got to helm Blue Ray ...a familiar view....( and petrol burn ) ...
Pete

Andre - glad to hear Sea Start managed to resolve your problem to get you home! Apologies I didn't stay once Sea Start were en route - coming from Poole I thought we really should get underway again!
Richard - agreed - Easter's almost begging for some form of trip now!

Yep, super day. Back home now and even my feet have stopped being cold!
Thanks for the ride, Andre.
I'll dust my own boat off later in the season.

I also have the cry of 'what a nob' followed by the chant of 'RIB Nobber, RIB Nobber' as you came back laughing It wil make the final cut dont worry ..I've worked out slow motion now too
And the whole MOB thingy on film ( audio really and footage of Blue Ray console anyhow)...
Interesting...I was already half way turned back before I asked Trevor if he was happy to go back ! And we went from a 30knt cruise to a 40+ knt return... Not sure I'd want to end up the water today if I wasn't expecting it .

Not sure if you heard but as you turned round for MOB practise there was a real MOB on the radio. They didn't give their coordinates at first but I thought you went back to assist and knew where they where. Brrrrr!

Good to meet you all today and thanks to gtb for the ride. It was gtb's forth trip out on a rib after his PB2 and he did really well. Was quite refreshing to meet someone who has put his family through the sea survival course before buying a boat, top bloke
It was good to get back on the Solent after a 3 year absence and yes it was bloody cold out there

Good to get out with everyone again today, and thanks to Landlord for being First Mate and making it possible to get out on the water.
Downloaded the GPS tracks and see we hit 44kts on the way home

Did I miss something? We got a DSC alert on leaving the Hamble, but (assuming I'm reading it right) it looked like a distress relay for Highland Daughter off Shoreham harbour

Erm, my GPS
I carry a simple datalogger in my pocket on trips, then link the tracks to my logbook, because ... well I'm just a bit geeky like that
The track is shown on a customised chart, so I can see where we went with reference to the bouyage, again just for my own information/education.

As we were so close, it didn't even occur to me that you might consider asking - turning back to see if help was needed was the obvious choice to me as well!
Great day out, and good to see new faces.
- and now I've read the power steering pump info, I'm 95% sure it's just a problem with the main power cable to it rather than a mechanical / fluid problem

There was Pan Pan call from a boat 'capacity' with MOB between Calshott and the mainland..just as we were about a mile away...Solent CG were on it in seconds and listening to the radio seemed to have a DF fix on the boat and within 120 secs of the first call had tasked both lifeboat and CG helicopter to them
MOB was recovered and lifeboat remained tasked to attend and deal etc .

I saw folks stop and turn back momentarily, but completely missed the pan pan call, which is a bit rubbish (of me)
Falling into the water, especially at this time of year, would be a mayday in my book. But sounds like there was a good outcome thankfully.
