Fine with me as well, although tides wrong for getting into Ventnor Harbour (LW 14:38 BST).

I presume we'll be going anticlockwise so we have the bulk of the journey complete before stopping for lunch (although weather forecast looks very good so it may not matter which way we go!!)?

See you tomorrow

Andy

If the weather tomorrow is anything like it is today, the solent will be flat as a pancake, there will be zero wind and the sun will be a scorcher! Bloody lovely today, so nice in fact, I'm going for a swim.

Andy,

You can moor outside the harbour and the Harbour master gives you a lift in on his RIB.

I'm just going to get the phone number and VHF channel.

Nick.

Yes - you mentioned this in your recent posting about Ventnor - I was just making sure you'd checked the tide tables this time as I don't fancy getting my feet wet!!

Hi Nik, was an excellent day out. No pictures from me, as you know I took 500 pics and 1hr of Video with some one elses camera's .

You know who you are!

Enjoyed the stop off at Ventnor and getting the inside lubricated, that funny rotten smell and the feet wetting exercise.

Thanks to James, Nik for giving me a ride during the day and not forgetting Andy B for letting me ride shotgun with him for the majority of it.

Has everyone heard of Z cars.....We now have Z Boats including flashy light.

Anyway a wonderful day out with great company.

What a cracking day. One of the warmest for me on the water this year. Good company on a good cruise.
I was surprised to to see that it only took an hour from Calshot to Ventnor at a steady 28 Knots or so.
Ventnor was nice for an extended RIBNET lunch sitting outside the pub overlooking the beach and our boats moored up. Could have been the med !
A couple of the pictures below show our escape from Ventnor. My co pilot earned his trip by pulling us out of the harbour that had only a few inches of water at the entrance.
When we suggested having a stop at the Lightship. One of our party mentioned that he had never ever paid to stop there. He shouldn't have done that because as soon as landed we were raided by two ladies in an electric buggy for £7 each. That was an expensive drink ! It did get a little choppy once we left Portsmouth but nothing demanding was met anywhere. Hopefully AndyB007 has got some good pictures as he spent quite a bit of time marshalling us for various shoots.

Pic 1) Shows the underwater RIB Taxi that takes you in to Ventnor. You get some big chaps on RIBNET.

Pic 2) Shows AndyB007 refusing to get wet. So near to that boat but six inches of water in the way.

Pic 3) The Mule ! Cliff pulling brave RIBNET members over the six inches of water to the waiting RIB Taxi. Didn't the boat have two inches of water in it anyway ?

Pic 4) Shows Andy Hightower enjoying a blast along Gosport/Haslar water front with his Lordship sat in the back. That boat needs one of those med Bimini tops.

Sorted out the best of the pics taken by Andy H - 64 in total so too many to post so have put them on the web HERE. If anyone wants a CD with high resolution copies let me have snail mail addresses via PM. (If you want just a few let me have the picture numbers and I'll email them).

Enjoy!

Andy

number 4037 would make a great candidate for the "show us your Wake shot" thread.

We need one with a good shot of a RIBnet burgee on IMHO.

PM sent.

I reckon the line abreast shot is a good one for the RIBNET intro.
