Solent - Saturday 29th November?
The weather's looking good for this weekend, and for once Rick's not playing footy on Saturday so we'll be out and about on the Solent tomorrow.
It's neap tides, with low tide at lunch time so the Sloop and Ventnor are out.
Thinking of a pre-Xmas Nacho run to Yarmouth - starting Southampton Drystack at about 11.00 or just after - probably getting to Yarmouth about midday.
Anyone else wanting to join us or meet at Yarmouth will be most welcome.
Trev

It's the Parkstone Beer Festival tomorrow, so unfortunately won't be able to join you. A pre-Christmas/Christmas run would be good, however., so watch this space!

Like the idea.
Like some others, unfortunately I cannot do this week-end.

Looking out of my window across southampton water it looks lovely. Light winds, blue patches of sky. Best day for a long time.
Unfortunately sea trialling a yacht this afternoon so won't be out

Hi Trevor - can't make it either as the boat is at Bembridge getting serviced. Had a nice run over from Poole on wednesday and took the train home. We collect the boat again next week so we'll certainly be up for future trips this winter

Saturday was one of the best days we've had on the water in ages. The weather was sunny, dry, and warm! The sea state in the Solent was a good rolling swell rather than short chop, and it was very, very quiet. Hardly anybody about enjoying it all, surprisingly.
We did see Blue Ray on her way back home, a bit too far away to wave. But the best bit for me was standing by as my 16-yr old daughter successfully and safely helmed the RIB from the Hamble to the Folly and back without any intervention from me. Gotta watch that one though, she's thinks we are not moving unless we are doing 25kts.

Agreed - Saturday was winter Ribbing at it's best - good weather and not many boats out - even on the Solent.

I think we passed you just off Bramble Bank on the way home - next time I'll get Rick to come a bit closer - he was driving all the way back.
Now .... here's something you don't see everyday - a teenager volunteering to eat the salad with his meal!

Trevor,
Looks like he's just poking it with a look of disdain on his face. No sign of eating to me!
Normal teenager service resumes?

Proof that he did eat some of it - but I think his friend's face says it all concerning whether this is "normal" or not!
