Well I tried today, but ended up staying around the East Solent area near to base.

Engine started fine but took a while to get up on to all six cylinders for some reason, then the new 21 inch prop I fitted yesterday was a disaster, holding it back so badly and cut the cruising speed back to 32 Knots when it was supposed to give it some longer legs.
Bearing in mind the initial troubles, I couldn't be bothered to change the prop, so me and the small Nashers spent a couple of hours mucking about and came home.

Nasher.

Hi, guys.

We had a great day today. It was good to meet lots of new people. Excellent lunch & a quick spin to the Needles

A few pics:

Cheers.

Looks like all you peeps had a brilliant weekend.

Two things spring to mind:

1. The Yarmouth HM must have thought Christmas had come early with all those mooring fees he collected from you all (?)

2. I was not out on patrol to have the pleasure of nicking a few for exceeding 10kts within 1000m of the shore whilst leaving Pompy. - better luck next time perhaps (Beware - the new patrol boat does 43knts and likes the smell of Old Spice )

Solent Shakedown Weekend 12/13 March

Another great meet on Sunday

14 boats gathered at Calshot and then we steamed up to The Folly for a great lunch (near on 30 bods so well done The Folly!!!).

Then there were the usual photo opportunities (see above ...nice ones )!!!

And we went to The Needles for a play.

The last 5 boats (Scooby Doo, Bumblebee, Pacman, Falcon 1 and Zebedee) finally went home in the dark!

Fantastic weekend/fantastic peeps...and it's only March!!! Thanks for turning up everyone ! Including a family all the way from !celand (well done Bogib, Maria and Ingi !). Two forum bosses got out also there to keep an eye on us and join in the fun (cheers JK and Willowkis ). Loads of ribsters are ready for the season ahead and the very best of good luck to the three Race Teams who got out there for a pre-season warm-up (Explosion, K4 and Lunasea (Zapcat)). We shall be cheering ye on from the sidelines this year .

Look forward to meeting up with you all again over the year. We'll see some of the diehards at 'Church' tonight (see calendar).

A good ole Solent Shakedown... it certainly was !!! )

Kathleen & Paul

Many thanks for a great day out on Saturday - and good to put some names against faces and boats!

Sorry could not make Sunday - but had to work on the raceboat as the season is coming round pretty quick.

Big thanks to everyone who made a fantastic weekend. I was home before midnight, just!

Special thanks to jackeens and to rouge for allowing us to use his facilities and slipway. Billy looks great.
