credit due

Fair dues, good to sea ribs doing what they are designed to be able to do. My issue is not how much the rib can take, or even what i can helm. I am limited to what i can row out to the rib in as the dinghy is fibreglass and about 6ft long! I go out, it gets rough, i have fun with passengers, drop them off at the jetty......then i have to moor up and row ashore!! Always the most dangerous bit.

Damn i wish they built the marina in beaumaris, anglesey.....or i lived near the solent!

Good point Maximus and Paul - for a newbie it's great to see what RIB's can actually achieve and still be safe, I appreciate it takes skilled hands but it makes me realise and appreciate the learning curve I'm on - one day when older and very much greyer (not long to go) hope to have as much understanding as you crazy fools

Why would you want to do that, when you have access to some awesome waters gorgeous scenery that isnt full of traffic . I think you need a smaller rib tender and give up rowing lol

I did exactly that ( buy a small tender that I have to row ) - but I still would have stayed at home on Sunday - not sure my back can take it any more. Its a great vid - showing the change as you head out the solent through Hurst as to what it can be like. Also a stunning contrast to the SR meeting 2 weeks before !

Looking at the weather it seems at 5pm on Sundat it hit 'Storm force waves' about a mile to the north of where the video was shot & and between 25-30 knts average wind with gusts to 36 !

Almost Ribbing porn level. Quite safe with a few capable boats driven with experience and its great to hear and see ( in the pics) a big heavy boat like Avocets come all the way out of the water.

I just keep telling myself it always looks calmer in videos & pictures !

My boat wants to be as big as Avocets, but until they build a compressor big enough to strech the toobs all the way from from 3.8 meters to infinity I'm well goosed.
