Solent Sunday 28th Feb
After a few weekends of non boating, I'm itching to get out next weekend.
Sunday 28th is looking like the best day for me. Starting from SDS and maybe a run to Portsmouth to make the most of a lee shore in the forecast wind - but open to other suggestions.

Yarmouth is OK (and it's been over a month since I last had the Nachos there) - but I think Mike D is coming out from Lymington in Watershed, so a run to Yarmouth won't even get his engine warm!
Let's firm up a destination nearer to Sunday.

but a run to the Needles after the Nachos would increase the temperature

Happy to go with the flow on the day, if anyone else is coming out of Lymington we could always go anti-clockwise round the IOW and join the SDS folk for the run to Y'mouth or not !

OK - the force of the Wheatsheaf Nachos is too strong! My current plan is aiming to leave SDS about 11 so should be at Yarmouth for about midday.

I met up with Trevor as arranged and we both had a good run to Yarmouth as you can see from my GoPro clip. In Yarmouth we met up with Mr & Mrs Avocet and enjoyed lunch at not the usual place. Can't think of the name
the way back was hard going as it was high water and we were heading into the wind. Trevor rightly suggested we head for the mainland and tuck to the shore heading towards Southampton water. For sure this was a good idea. I will post the Gopro film of our return this evening when I get round to editing it.
enjoy the clip

The pub was the King's Head in Yarmouth - it's been taken over by the same owners as the Wheatsheaf so it made a nice change.
The food is almost the same menu - but they have decided not to do Nachos at the Kings Head. In my view the ambiance was good - and the open log fire was certainly welcome - but I did miss the Nacho option!
