Solent Sunday 6 May

The weather forecast for this weekend is excellent We're taking Grey Pearl out for some exercise in the Solent on Sunday. As usual, launching from Hamble Point at about 10.00. A blast out to the Needles then Sunday roast in Yarmouth.
Anyone else coming out to play?

I think we'll stick with Sunday - You'll never get into the harbour on Saturday.

FoxZulu did go round the IOW and later joined us for some refreshments.

a surprise visit to Newtown Creek by the Border Force vessel

Lee Argyle came over to introduce himself and it was a pleasure to meet him at last. We chatted about the next Channel Islands cruise which I am keen to do as well providing the timing does not clash with any event which is already in my diary like Seawork in July etc

Yes, we had a very enjoyable trip around the IOW in perfect conditions. Apart from a few fishing boats and a couple of yachts further out we were alone all along the south of the island, but once back in the Solent there were hundreds of boats of which quite a few were RIBs.

We had a very nice Sunday roast at The Wheatsheaf in Yarmouth then spent the afternoon in some very agreeable company at Newtown Creek.

We 'de-salted' Grey Pearl with a short trip along the Thames yesterday before giving her a good clean and making her ready for the next trip.

All in all, an excellent Bank Holiday weekend, for a change.
