The approach to Carteret is dead simple, theres loads of room as long as the tide is up, ie when theres access up the river to the marina. It is shallow for a long way out otherwise, I had a bit of a suprise once when I looked over the side at 40 knots

Still having engine problems but am still very interested if I get them sorted but clearly can't come unless rebuild is fully tested.

Morning folks,

If you are having any problems with accomodation I have just booked my rooms at the Hotel Marina. I emailed them this morning and they still have some rooms available if you need them.

The link to the website is http://www.hotelmarine.com/

The hotel looks very nice and is near the high street and about 5 - 10 mins walk to the marina.

Hope that helps

Julian

You've got this hotel, just near the marina:

If there is no more place at the Hotel de la Marine...

Afternoon Folks,

I have had to provide the port at Carteret with all our boat names and crew details etc,

They have asked me to send them boat SSR numbers, we can give these on arrival or if you want I can email the number over to them.

If you want me to do that just message me your boat SSR

Cheers

Julian

Morning,

Due to all kinds of complications with tides, marina locks etc here is the new plan for Carteret..

Friday - Meet Yarmouth 9am. Depart straight to Guernsey for Lunch, Beer, fuel and a look around. Spend 3 hours there and leave at 5pm to head to Carteret which should be just as the lock opens.

Saturday - If its a nice day which it will be - Jersey for lunch, If for any reason its not were go to Alderney and have a general run about.

Sunday - Leave at 10am for return trip. This will work out well with slack water as well.

Cheers

Julian

Fermain Bay

May I make a suggestion for lunch on the friday. The beach cafe at fermain bay serves excellent seafood and the best steak sandwich in Guernsey IMHO, although quite pricey.

Once you have refuelled at St Peter Port the bay is less than 2 miles south. You would have to raft up and row a shore.

When it is sunny and calm the bay is idylic. I cannot find a web site, but if you are interested I could pop down and take some pics for you.

Have a great trip

Thanks for your suggestion, I went to that bar twice last year and I agree its excellent, nice to site there with some mussells and a bottle of wine on a hot day.

Lets hope for good weather next weekend, if your around by all means pop in for a drink.

Cheers
