Julian do you know if there is petrol in Carteret marina
i cant find any info on the internet site
Guernsey dose not look that far away and i know they have fuel and its duty free, but my chart shows some nasty overfalls from Carteret to Guernsey

Hi, its a straight run to Carteret from Guernsey. It takes about 45 mins. As for fuel I cant remember sorry..
There is only one visitors pontoon so rafting is essential.
I would like to go on the Island trips with you guys including Carteret.

Hello,

I think you can find petrol in Carteret, but because of the price, it should be a better idea to refuel in Alderney or Guernesey, on the way back to England.

When I went there in 2002 there was definitely no fuel.

The 2006 Reeds Almanac states P&D - cans from town.

However, the French website states:
FACILITES
Carburant au ponton d’accueil.

Perhaps worth a call to the Capitainerie 02 33 04 70 84

Julian,

I am interested in joining you if a 6.5M is not too small - but I am waiting for my repaired engine to be fully sorted so may take a few more days before I know for sure.

Thanks

Bruce

Carteret

Morning guys,

Thanks for the replies

Roy dont worry we will fill up in Guernsey etc as we will be going there for lunch on the Saturday so you can top up on the duty free stuff. I'll fill the tanks up as well.

Tony - Be good is your around and feel free to pop along with us.

Bruce - Of course 6.5mtr is no problem and be good to have you on board etc. Will keep you posted with plans.

Cheers

Julian

So please include us in your 'head count'.

Now I have my new boat, being at work is not so much fun....

Bruce
Hope the rebuild is finished soon (and satisfactory). Good to have met up RIBEX weekend.

Hi Paul,

Excellent I will add you to the list etc. I sent you a link for hotels so I hope you got that.

All this working is no good for us, but unfortunately we need to pay for these trips.

Cheers

Dont you worry Jon, I would not have booked the place if there was no watering hole for us.

Just means that this time we have to eat and drink,

Cheers

i had better do something before the bones get to brittle
might be on my own though as Roy jnr not back from Uni till following week.

I have been to Marine Super store to get charts for Carteret
but they dont have any thing with detail i/e marina approach
etc. so many rocks round there just thought it might come in handy.

Carteret

Hi Roy

I have emailed the hotels to get quotes etc for the rooms so i will update you as soon as they get baack to me etc.

It is a little rocky but not too bad around carteret, we just need to arrive at a certain time so we dont miss the tides etc to get iinto the marin.

Looks like we have a few boats now so it should be a good weekend

Cheers

Julian
