Solent to Plymouth for Round Britain Race - 21 June 2008

Afternoon,

As most of you are aware the Round Britain Race is all set for the 21st June etc.

For those not taking part it would be a great sight to see all the boats race, I have decided to do a Cruise from Yarmouth to Plymouth with a view to catching all the boats on the run to Plymouth.

If anyone is interested in coming along and watching the event please let me know. We should be across Lyme Bay by the time the race boats catch us.

Is there a turning mark in Lyme Bay or just go straight to Plymouth from Portsmouth....I was thinking of going to Portland Bill to watch them go by.....I wonder how close they will be to the headland?

At the moment there are no turnpoints on the course - start at A and finish at B, although at least one team has been lobbying for this. The best place to see the boats will be at the various stopovers.

They should pass reasonably close to Salcombe though!
