We'd planned a trip to St Vaast last weekend. We set off, but turned back due to worse than expected weather slowing us down so much that we were not going to make our destination within the necessary tidal window.
But if at first you don't succeed...we have the passage plan, so are going to try again this Saturday, 7th August.
Tides mean that we have all day to cross, with the lock gates at St Vaast opening at 6 pm French time. So we'll leave at about 2 pm. Our departure point is Sparkes Marina, Hayling Island.
We can then leave St Vaast between 7 am and 12 noon French time on Sunday morning. So the tides are pretty much perfect. We have a hotel booked for the Saturday night.
Please contact me if you'd like to join the trip. We're using an 8.6 metre Shearwater RIB.
