Andy would be more than welcome aboard Greyhound (Currently myself, Rich (laser), and probably Alex)

Should be a fun weekend!

Any update on an itinery !!!!!

Not too sure what I'm up to over the weekend. So many possibilities. I don't like to make plans because I find it hard to keep them but looking at.

a) Launching from hayling about 2000 hrs on tjhe saturday, staying overnight on the beach then either returning to Hayling about 1100 hrs on the Sunday or waiting till the evening if theres plenty to do.

b) Launching from Hayling on the early high tide on the Sunday popping over for a couple of hours then getting back in before the high tide goes. Or staying out till the late high tide.

Thanks Jimbo! Hopefully Andy can rendez-vous with you guys. Most kind

Thanks Debs look forward to reading about your trip!

Biggles, the Saturday option might be best ? Be great to see you!

Pete & Viv - excellent news !

Many thanks Bogib and safe trip!

Generally, most peeps are heading for Priory Saturday morning and some toys are being packed. Sarah might have to give wakeboarding lessons!

Some peeps are forever 'cleaning their legs' whenever they hit the shallows! Sounds dodgier than it actually is!!!!

Don't panic about bringing loadsa grub. There will be plenty BBQs, water, bread-type stuff, cheese (croissants and brie by request ) sausages, chicken, strawberries & cream, chocolatey bits n bobs (cake natch!!!) and Pimms!!!!!!!!!!!

More details to follow...

K & P

Thanks for thinking of me guys, but too much going on I'm afraid and my heads about to explode. I realy would have loved to have come along and am counting the days untill I have a much lighter work load, so I have to back out of this one.

Will be able to make the Church on monday though, any BBQ stuff then tip me the nod .

I may still be able to make it on sat, but have uni friends over who haven't been ribbing before. Would I be able to come over sat and get back again before sundown without getting stuck on the beach?!!

Currently repairing a large gouge in my hull from an unfortunate gel coat to metal trailer interface

I would like to meet up with some of you fellow Solenteers, as we only live around the corner at Bembridge. Unfortunately our rib is still awaiting repairs in St Vaast, if the boat is ready tomorrow we will then join up with the Aldernay cruise on Saterday, but if not we will pop around the corner in our little Humber and say "Hello" Martin and Stephanie

smoke on the water!!!

A random look for a handy site for tidal predictions washed up this site

tides n stuff

(Wouldn't mind recommendations to better tide sites for our 'favourites' collection!)

As Pete 7 has already helpfully suggested, anchor offshore if you plan on leaving mid-low tide to be sure (to be sure).

Any up-to-date weather? Hoping to light BBQs on Saturday lunchtime as peeps go for a whizz on the toys

Probable Participants!!!

benc (doing some escorting)
Biggles (heading our way from Hayling & tent)
Bogib (always with us in spirit )
Carly Baby (with family & g/f)
DJL (who needs a tent?)
Howard (& lovely lady & toys)
Ian M (& mighty crew inc. star zapcatters!)
Jimbo & mates(not to be allowed near fire)
Martin & Antoinette (Commodore & Lady)
MHumphrey (Martin & Stephanie on a Humber)
Nautibuoy and Sarah with BBQs and toys (plus tent)
Neal and family (with big grins)
Pete & Vivienne and gang (plus tent)
Pete L (& gang & toys) Sunday
pop (with a shiny new scorp)
Pressman and family (the 'jetset')
Slimtim (with his new craft)
Us (Paul & Kathleen- staying over)
Warners (having a think!)
Whiteshoes (& gang if free)

Fantastic! Any others thinking of a spinette to Priory on Saturday or Sunday, please post also!

We will be around to ensure all is cleared up afterwards as it's such a beautiful little corner of the world!

Will also confirm the supplies we will be bringing to share (inc. Birthday Cake!) to save everyone else weighing down their RIBS with superfluous items.

K & P

Wrong ian?! This Ian has kindly offered (as have others) to escort me from western solent.

Spoke to craig and he said he may be out with his dad, will get in touch with him/dad ian D tomorrow perhaps.

If I come, I will bring tube and wakeboard.

My only concerns are:

I'm not familiar with "the other side"...I think I'll just keep well clear of Bruce's bank

I need to be back in yarmouth by 6pm to recover the boat so don't want to get stranded in priory! Isn't there a nasty little bank that runs slightly offshore and is a perfect RIB trap?

I will have an inexperienced crew with me, but I guess it should be fine if I'm cruising with other boats!

Tim (slightly protective over crew and new boat )

This shows how far you need to be to stay afloat!
Not the boat in the for ground, but the ones in the distance!

Blimey, that's gonna be a long swim out. What we need is someone with a Windlass Anchor so we can jump on a Ringo then press the button to wind in, so we can surf out to the Ribs

Oh....does all that water between were the pic was taken and those boats in the distance disappear at low water? No prospect for floating a rib out by hand into deeper water?!

Tim, have a look at the piccy's in this thread.. It is possible to ensure you can leave at anytime, just gotta be careful about where you leave the rib..

Yep but you can use the Chanel that runs just off the beach, but even this will dry out, you should get in & out 2 hours ether side of low water.
