Poole Cruise - Final Changes

Just spoken to Neil Harvey and he's come up with this plan which I'm publishing as he's already on the South Coast (Lucky Person)

This seems to be what everyone is happy with so I'm quite happy to go along with it. (My words).

Don't forget the clocks change tonight

RV Cowes 10.30.
RV Yarmouth 11:00, Depart 11:15, to allow some time for refuelling if needs be and for anyone launching in East and not able to make the Cowes RV to catch up. (such as Little Joe who's launching at Warsash at 10:00)
RV Off Poole 12:15
Tie up at 12:45
Leave at 14:00 (suggested as latest preferred leave time by AndyB007)
RV back at Yarmouth about 15:30
RV back at Cowes (if worthwhile) about 16:00

Sunset 16:45 at Southampton.
Forecast for Sunday looking good, with northerlies.5-10mph depending on forecast used.

Warsash Tides:
0252 High 4.0
0829 Low 2.0
1519 High 4.0
2107 Low 2.0

Poole Harbour tides:-
0146 Low 1.7
0520 High 2.0
0816 Low 1.4
1123 High 1.9
1446 Low 1.7
1721 High 1.8
2054 Low 1.2

As usual this is a casual cruise; skippers are responsible for their boats and the people on them – RIBnet nor I can not be held responsible for anything that happens. Obviously we will all keep a good look out for each other, and it should be a great day out.

See you all on the Solent.

PPS. Was in Southsea today and it looked a little choppy. Hope tomorrow lives up to the forecast.

Is it worth pulling the RV times back 1/2 an hour? It doesn't leave much time in Poole.

Do you mean starting half an hour earlier ? Matt it was hard enough getting this far !

Bit hard to change anything this late. If we are all punctual and the seas are smooth we should gain that half hour.

I'm going to try and be early anyway.

As their aren't many of us now we shouldn't have to wait long at each RV and I shouldn't need to go in to Yarmouth for a stop, so their is a possibility to make a lot of time up en route.

Erm - where did I go?!

AndyB007 - Southampton (RV at Cowes)

Timings look fine to me as long as we keep it slick (and we should do better than 20knots average)

Was out today and it was a bit bumpy! Good job we delayed this cruise!!

Andy

Andy,

Sorry. It all got a bit confusing with people dropping out and things changing. Thats why I published that last list, so people could confirm one way or the other or speak up if I'd missed them off.

Its going to be a smaller group tomorrow but a tight one.

See you in the morning.

Biggles if you can't raise me on 77 then give my mobile a bell tomorrow-I had to resolder the ariel connection and haven't got any way of testing it til I'm down there.

Matt,

If I can I will phone when I launch and also from yarmouth. Then I'll put the phone away to keep it dry.

Hopefully you should be able to eyeball us steaming past Hengistbury.

Ok. I've got the Hengistbury waypoint in my GPS anyway-you might find me anchored there. If not I'll be around the Poole waypoint.

If I don't answer it'll be because I'm moving and can't hear the fone.

Off to bed now,got to get up early.

Joe,

My planned time of arrival at warsash is 0920 hrs (Don't forget the clocks go back) But then I've got all the faffing around to do and I've got my parents coming down to see me. If I can leave Warsash before 0950 hrs I'll be happy.

Have you got a mobile ?

I sent you a PM for the number.

Nick.

Its 0030 hrs and its funny (Or not) how the wind is now forecast to be from the South West (Which is what we were trying to avoid) and speeded up to 8 MPH.

That was a quick and unexpected change.

Lets hope they are wrong..............................
