High tides just after 10:00 and i believe you can get in and out 2 hours either side of high.... might mean either a short stay or revising the schedule... could suggest Queensbourgh as there's no problem with access or tides or we could use the pontoon outside the marina !!

Bilge Rat,
Queenborough it is (The old house at home) less mileage as well!!
A couple of other Ribs may also be joining us too who suggested it would be a better option.

Southend Air Show
I notice that several of you guys have mentioned Chatham marina.
The fuel berth shuts in the Eve at 5.30 and opens in the morning approx 7.00
The lock opens on every half hour for lock out and for entrance in as and when. The marina is on channel 80. Worthy of mention opposite queenborough spit there is a new terminal under constrcution and channel markers are in place. There is a speed limit for a few hundred mts of 6 Knts as divers are often in the water, also from folly point inward bound on the medway ( 26 bouy )there is a speed limit of 6 knts from this point upwards to Chatham.
I know for a fact this weekend they are going to be HOT on this with the patrol boats monitoring activity so be careful.
We are based in Chatham marina so if you need any further information let us know.
David

Thanks for the notice.... i think the current plan is to meet and moor at Queensbourgh for lunch and then a leisurely cruise across to Southend and moor in the Gat outside the xclusion zone for the air show.
I was down at Chatam a few weeks ago where exactly are you guys ? as i've not seen you, would be nice to come along and say hi sometime.
How many hours either side of high water does the lock operate ?

Lock opening times
Hi ,
The lock opening times are 24 Hrs a day. On the springs some craft might be restricted over the sill but that still leaves approx 1. 6 mts so will not affect us guys.
We are right down the main slip by the shower block. Its bright Orange you will not miss it !
What day are you all going Sunday or Monday ?
I will certainly go out for a play if there is enough people going along
David

David,
we will moor, just east of leigh buoy in the Ray Gut.
Bilge Rat,
I am now joining Chris Hinson on 'Blue Marlin' on Sunday. We will be departing from Burnham and will meet at 11:30 at Queenbourgh as planned.
You will have to see Grey Dolphin next time we meet.
See you Sunday

leigh anchorage good fishing
Will not open a whole debate on fishing on Ribs however we anchored here the last time we were out and caught the following............mackeral , plaice , Gurnard , Flounder all were sizeable and good for the table.......
Just food for thought !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Weather loks promising as I speak looking out across the Thames to Southend
loads of Ribs about as well as many other types of Pleasure craft.
