Boris,
I moved from Cobbs because I got fed up with the bridge (had a bigger boat then) and the trek through Holes Bay and the drive to Hamworthy from Bournemouth. Oh and the cost (at the time). Having to check the tides and dealing with the occasional restriction seemed a reasonable trade off.
I did like Cobbs ( apart from them nearly allowing my Boat to sink in its berth and the dodgy motorcycle/boat mechanic who used to be there who "allowed" my first rib to be stolen while it was there for servicing) but on balance I'm happy with the move. Being able to get to the boat in 5 minutes from home is a real bonus.
Are you going on Saturday?
Simon

Simon, I take it you are going? Would you like to meet up in Poole Harbour? - Would need to be about 9ish I guess.

Info on the Lymington Rib Race for Saturday
Launching on slipway only 10:00
Safety briefing 11:00
Drivers Sign In 12:45
Drivers Briefing 13:00
Race Start 14:30
Prize Giving 19:00
The Race course if its routh will be between lymington and isle of wight and across to hurst castle, if its fine then it starts to the west of lymington, east of hurst castle and proceeds past the needlles and around past southbourne and back across past hensibury head heading for hurst castle. (Ive explanied that very badly. Do a search for the race on google and you can print out the course and details. It would be best your all aware as you dont want an incident with a race boat.

Im sure Biboa will be kind to us lesser boaters...and we have a mole or two in there ....and a certain organiser is also a client of mine at work ...
Its a big old slipway - anyone launching a big rib 'should' know what they are up to ....just hope the sailing club dont get ideas.....

Bugger i have a bit of a dilemma, my crew (son) has just rung me to see he is unwell and he may not make tomorrow.
i am left with the following options
1.hope he recovers overnight.
2.try and launch and recover solo, not sure thats possible.can anyone help me launch recover?
or
3.offer my services as crew on another boat.

I'm scrutineering race boats in the morning, and helping with safety in the afternoon, then heading back to Poole, please come and say hello.
