I'd be up for a trip up that way in the Summer, I'd go by sea. My Sister races Seine boats out of Shaldon and has been nagging me to take the boat up.
No go in the winter, Hey Joe is on blocks, taped-up, covered-up and snuggled-up.
In our house the ski season and boating season don't overlap.

I'm out on the pull again on Saturday for about a week. I believe we are going from Poole - Southampton for a pick up - some place past Lands End for a drop off perhaps we migh rendevous at sea!
