Thames - local advice needed.

I am thinking of doing a trip on the Thames this summer as I have loads of Family who still live in and around London and would like to take them out for a Day on the River.

I have searched the Forums and it looks like Putney seems to be a launch favourite (I will be staying near Croydon so its quite convenient for that also)

I tow my boat with a normal car so i need easy launch and recovery on a good slip - no mud or shingle banks.

I also have no where to store the boat near where I will be staying.

So :-

I'm looking for info about the slip and parking facilities etc at Putney or an alternative slip.

Details of overnight secure boat/trailer storage somewhere nearby.

Many thanks.

I would speak to Julie at Chas Newens Marine on Putney hard.

She would be able to drop you in the river and probably fit your boat into her yard at the end of the Embankment.

Contact info here:

If Chas Newens can't store your boat/trailer overnight as their yard is quite small, on occasion I have used the secure gated parking at Surguard Storage in Wandsworth/Putney. For £20 ish overnight. Only a few minutes from the slipway at Putney.
