Have a look at the map on my thread or the Chas Newmens website.
When I went there the strech or road down stream from Glendary St. was very tight with cars on both sides. Up stream of Glendary St was tight but I got through OK.
Tell your girlies there is a public (pay) toilet right up the end of the road by the park.

If your coming from the west you don't need to go down that road and you can by pass it by going down Thames Place anyway.

Having gone on the trip last year I can highly recommend it
Couple of things I learnt that others might find usefull :-
(1) Take at least £5 worth of change for the parking meters at Putney.
(2) Wheelclamp & hitchlock for trailer.
(3) Keep an eye for debris in the water (I caught a car tyre)
Have Fun & dont forget your camera!
PS: Lookout for the waves under Blackfriars Bridge on the Ebb tide

13 and 2!
We are now at 13 boats.
Northern Exposure 3
Voyager
TBA (TimM)
Southern Comfort
Barrier II
Avon Rib
Andromeda
Seahawk 3
Zodiac Rover
The Bizz
Fujimo
Snapper
Pheonix
Being such a large group we need to set some deadlines and address some problems.
1) Food
Due to the number we have I need to book something with the restaurant as soon as possible. Please can you confirm by the 26th May how many on your boat will want a place setting for food. If I don't hear from you I'm sorry but I wont make a reservation for your party.
2) Parking
Parking for 12 vehicles plus trailers = 24 spaces! Not insurmountable but it will require us to seperate cars from trailers. I am hoping to book (may require a small donation to Wandsworth Council from everybody!) some trailer parking on Putney Embankment so please bring your wheel clamps etc.
Cars will then need to park away from the Embankment and the drivers walk back to the boats. If you follow this LINK it shows you dark pink areas labelled "A5 subzone" which we can park our cars in.
This going to add time to your launching so please arrive early so that we are all ready on the water ready to go at 1000.
Thanks
Chris

For 26 notes its hard to justify getting up that early to yourself isn't it!
Don't blame you.

Just spoken to Julie at Chas Newens Marine and she says she will be able to do launch and recovery for those who are unsure about the slip or without a 4x4. More good news is that no big events are programmed for the rowing clubs.
She has suggesting trailer parking on the single yellows will be OK, but watch this space as I have a cunning plan up my sleeve!

Even though I was the first to reply with my interest - I think I may have to pull out of this trip.
There seems to be too much stuff happening locally that weekend with Hugh down in Cornwall - and also potential Scillies trip on the cards.
Definitely want to see London from the Thames thou - so will be up for the next one.
Might mean you have less trouble getting somewhere for lunch without me anyway
Have a great day - I look forward to the pictures

OK no problems there. Thank you for letting me know quickly.
Even with the two withdrawals we are still on with 11 boats!
I am going to visit Limehouse basin on Saturday to test the pubs and see if they can fit us all in. I feel duty bound to fully check the hospitality before comitting to a particular establishment!
I am still looking into the parking but I'll let you know once its all sorted.
If anybody has any other questions please post or PM me.

Take care on the Thames...was out on Sunday and hit a HUGE piece of ship's rope lurking just under the surface by Chelsea.
Took a blade of the SS prop clean off.
No need to bring a spareprop as I am based on the Thames and this is the first damage in 3 years....however be aware!

I have to say in 5 years out on the Thames the nearest I've come to hitting something was a particialy sumbermerged builders bag. Any how as promised this is going to be a cruise not a race so no worries on hitting debris!
(Timw - Hope you get your prop sort ok...have you tried Stainless Developments in Wandsworth??)
I had hoped this weekend to get out on the River on Saturday for a restaurant recce but at the last minute I ended up at Rutland Water for the Eric Twinane Finals. We will do a proper recce asap to sort out food. I'll drop a line back once its sorted?
