If Your Coming Please Read This !!!!!!!!

Letter from the Maritime officer-

Dear Mr Garton,

Thank you very much for your e-mail dated the 7th of March 2006.

We have discussed this matter at length with the Harbourmaster and the Marina Manager, and the following maters will apply to the proposed event which is scheduled for the 1st and 2nd of July 2006:-

1. All craft shall be required to register with Cyngor Gwynedd before launching as per the regulations, and as per the condition of launching or entering the harbour limits. We enclose a list of the fees and charges, the application form, and the policy relating to the navigating of power craft in Gwynedd.

2. All craft will be required to pay a launching fee. Consideration will be given to waiving the launching fee for one day only should the craft have registered with Cyngor Gwynedd before the date of the event.

3. It is possible that the ‘Event Compound’ can be used for the storage of trailers, and for the overnight parking of vessels on condition that the Council will not be held responsible for any injury, or loss or damage to equipment or boats. The Council do not provide overnight security.

4. If thirty Ribs’ are participating, then all launching shall be on the Public Slipway by the harbour office. If more than thirty, then the number exceeding thirty will need to launch at the marina slipway, and arrange for their craft to be launched by one of the ‘Park and Launch’ operators and the cost will be paid directly to the operator.

5. Additional, albeit temporary moorings will be available at the north basin for Rib’s.

6. Additional staffing will be present on the public slipway on the Saturday and Sunday evenings.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can be of any further assistance.

Yours sincerely,

Barry Davies

Maritime Officer

The license is £10 - £15 (TBC for 2006 season) and as you will only be launching on one day (mooring are for free this weekend), doesnt seem bad to me.

Pwllheli Accomodation

Hi Jono (plus other people who know Pwllheli)

I'm looking for somewhere cheap to stay in pwllheli for a week within walking/cycling distance of the marina / pwllheli sailing club for a week in august for the Optimist sailing National Championships and i'm on RIB safety cover. Any ideas?

I've looked into costs and what i can afford, B&B / Guesthouse / Cheap hotel are fine as i only intend using it to sleep in.

Whats the crown like?

Cheers
Martin

Try the Victoria Hotel – 01758 612834, it's just on the other side of the marina, about 15mins walking distance at an average.
