Yeah, there are loads of places round us worth visiting. I managed to get Avocet and Trevor G down to Ile de Brehat last year, perhaps the rest of you could do that this year?

I'm definitely up for this if the weather window turns up and I'm free.
I'd be using the 4.7 Searider as I can tow it easily at short notice.

You'll want a dead smart forecast if you're going over in tiddlers. Wave jumping in the bay is one thing, 30Nm of open sea passage making is another. :-)

SR4, while a fine boat, wouldn't be the weapon of choice for this trip.

It's all about the weather/sea state. In flat calm conditions, you really need a boat that will comfortably cruise at 25knts min.

The Scillies are a Great location for a cruise but as already mentioned so very weather dependant. Our Cornish Gig club were going to row over last May from Falmouth for Charity a total of 56 miles one way. They actually did it 9 months later due to rubbish weather.
You never get the same sea state twice even when there is a weather window.

The first time I did the Scillies, we had glassy seas there and back and for the duration of the stay. Virtually every crossing since has been 'interesting'.
