Yeah, there are loads of places round us worth visiting. I managed to get Avocet and Trevor G down to Ile de Brehat last year, perhaps the rest of you could do that this year?

Nice one trevor. Will be SR4 ing it. Couple of weeks after the scotland trip if that suits. Its going to be a case of mid week weather check and go for it that weekend!

You'll want a dead smart forecast if you're going over in tiddlers. Wave jumping in the bay is one thing, 30Nm of open sea passage making is another. :-)

It's all about the weather/sea state. In flat calm conditions, you really need a boat that will comfortably cruise at 25knts min.

The Scillies are a Great location for a cruise but as already mentioned so very weather dependant. Our Cornish Gig club were going to row over last May from Falmouth for Charity a total of 56 miles one way. They actually did it 9 months later due to rubbish weather.
You never get the same sea state twice even when there is a weather window.

The first time I did the Scillies, we had glassy seas there and back and for the duration of the stay. Virtually every crossing since has been 'interesting'.
