Sports Boat and Rib Article

Folks,

I have agreed to pen a few words for the next issue of Sports Boat & RIB about our "adventures" to the IoM...

...so I am looking for any interesting information, funny stories, near death experiences or anything else that might turn our trip into an interesting article etc. I'll be on John Kennett's boat over the next few days so feel free to share them now - or via the forum, PM or email on your return.

I am also looking for photos that can be included...

thanks,

I remember the feeling I got when I was a kid and my mate was going on holiday to Disney land and my dad was going to take me to the leyland truck museum. Well feeling like that now

The weather isnt looking good for the I.O.M at the moment but the trip is not called off, we will still meet 10-10.30 in the morning and will go some where (thats the advantage of Conwy). A lot of boats launched and in the marina this afternoon, waiting on the next batch tonight
The Sunday run is still on

Will keep you all posted.
Back down to the marina now for a beer with the boys

Neil unfortunately that is Bangor pier! Beaumaris pier is two mile to the left as you look at the pier. About 5 mins in the boat.

Glad you swam ashore ok, was worried the trailer was going over the edge of the jetty! You should have called, sprinting to the jetty down the hill to help isn't easy after 5 stellas!

See you in the morning!

Glad to see that a number of you had some fun and weren't too upset by not getting to IOM ,this time.
Douglas outer harbour was not a place to be at lunchtime to-day,
the seas were washing straight in and the pontoons were bouncing. In addition, the TT races were cancelled for to-day, so much for the 6 Ps (Prior Planning Prevents P--s Poor Performance), we need a new weather god.
Have a good 'rest of the week-end'.

Musto brand seems popular but several layers of warm fleece underneath do not go amiss. Tomorrow I shall be wearing my dry suit under the standard off-shore sailing gear.

So how many RIBnet members have gone?

Some RIB's I recognise but some I don't. Would there be any chance of posting some pics with some form of identification of said members and their RIB?

Andy i can't match boat name, user name and real names... but

There were 14 boats left Conwy this morning. 3 Turned back before Beaumaris. At Beaumaris the "fleet" split with roughly half battling it back to Conwy and half heading for shelter at Portdinorwic.

In the meantime I think 3 boats had started at Beaumaris and headed to Conwy before making the return trip.

A mixture of Aircraft, Ribcraft, Humbers, Ospreys, Scorpions and a Redbay.
