You coming along John?

Last time I went by boat to the isle of man it took 8 hours of mind numbing boredom! Looking forward to a quicker trip

We are now booked in a cottage a couple of miles outside Conwy for the week arriving the night before the TT trip so we are a definite now.
Keep the arrangement details coming, anything that we can help with just ask and if we can we will help if we can.
We are coming down from Oban via Stirling M74 and M6, anybody else likely to be coming down at the same time on the Friday?

I'm thinking of coming the night before and sleeping in my van Bruce so will be joining the M6.

It may be good to meet up on the way down to support each other in case of problems although this sort of journey is exactly what I had in mind when I spent the extra money last year specifiying up a large overrated twin axle trailer for the boat.
The company would be nice as well.

Sounds good to me Bruce! Will sort out a meeting point nearer the time. My original plan was to go through the Mersey tunnel or Runcorn bridge but both can be a pain normally never mind towing as well. So I've decided to do the M6. Will be joining on juc 25.

I've just booked in for three nights at the Quay in Deganwy . ( The three for two offer IS still on , but you have to take the Sunday night meal at the Quay , cost approx £25 ) . A basic twin room is £135 for two people B&B per night , so the overall price is not too bad I guess for a bit of comfort after a hard day's ribbin' . With my first phone call , the lass didn't seem to think the the 3 for 2 was applicable , but 24 hours later , another lass has told me that it is , so persevere if necessary ! Fingers crossed for some good weather ! I've been to two TTs and two Manx GPs over the years . A combination of RIBs and Bikes.....hard to beat !

Look forward to meeting you Bruce , re firming up the August Isles trip ?

The Quay hotel is on the waterfront with the marina behind it, you may want to book into the marina on a budget berth for your stay!

Looking online the council seem to be screwing folk for launching in the area with registration costs and launching permits costs adding up to around £70-80 for the week.
What are the options? I don't want to put the boat in the marina as I intend to move it around during the week we are down including a trip to Cardigan bay. As normal I intend to launch and recover each day.
Anywhere else in the area to launch ? marinas etc?
