another one to join the trip
Taking delivery of a 6.3 Humber ocean pro with 175 opti in two weeks !!! Moored in Menai on the straits and know the waters. Will surely be up for round anglesey on the sunday. What time are you departing from Conwy for round the island????
Will meet you at Puffin islan rather than clog the marina!!!
May even come to IOM if weather is perfect, if not, that would be a long and choppy ride!!

Accomodation on the straits near conwy end
If anyone wants accomodation on anglesey, not far from conwy, i can recommend the Gazelle Hotel with sheltered moorings right in front of the pub and full tidal jetty!! We moor there all season and have been going for over 20 years!!! and will be going round the island.
Check it out on the internet,, accomodating staff and landlady (Mary). Views over the straits to Snowdonia mountains and Bangor Pier. Nice restaurant and good bar food etc with pool table. 01248713364
If here is full, try Beaumaris, where the RNLI launches from, plenty of pubs. Someone could contact Beaumaris Yacht club and organise something, they have tenders etc

I've got a mate who lives not a million miles from Dickes boat yard. I know the yard well as my Brother had his boat there one winter. But does anyone know if they let the public use there slip?
If they do it will be great as I can get my head down there. Plus his missus makes a cracking roast dinner

dickies boat yard - JSP
Not sure if the slip is public, though the main thing is to be sure the tides are right on sat to launch, as it isn't a full tide harbour. Worth ringing to ask the yard what states of tide are launchable. I'm moored just opposite the pier outside the Gazelle. (Yellow humber 6.3, just sold our searider 5.4 avec 90 opti, 10 yrs of solid fun, bet yours flies with a 115!) See you around hopefully.

I will be launching from Anglesey. Menia Bridge slip or possibly Treath Bychan, Nr Moelfre. I will also meet up off Puffin Island. Is the round the Island trip going to be clock or anticlockwise?

Will give them a bell although I seem to remember them not being the friendliest unless your giving them loads a money.

Friday Launch
Following excellent advice ( Ged thanks ) I have today spoken to those nice men at Conwy Quays marina . It is expensive for them to launch you but they have quoted about £18 per night for a berth for an 8m. rib .
I think there are concerns that launching and recovering so many boats on both Sat. and Sun. will take sometime ! I have been advised to ring them early that week and am thinking of berthing for both Fri. and Sat. night as could mean an extra hours sleep !!

Is there a route for this trip ie waypoints for the important meeting places, passage and the start and end of the trip?
We will probably launch and recover on the day unless the berthing option starts to look better. I suppose launching times depend on how efficient everyone is at launching and recovery and I suppose there will be one or two faffers...........
Because of the distance we are looking at preparation starting very soon for the trip, cottage booked and boat insured and everything else being checked and rechecked from this week, not that I am starting to get paranoid or anything...........
We will be coming down the M80/M74/M6 route starting fairly early Friday morning. Times to be agreed with those others we spoke about coming down in company soon but probably around 10am passing Stirling?

Convoy to Conwy>>>>
Hi, can we add 2 more boats to the list for Sat's trip to IOM please.
Will put both boats out on the Sat for trip to IOM then might just take one boat out on Sunday or head back up north - to be decided.
Loose plan is to head down on Friday morning (Two more boats to add to your convoy Bruce. Breaker Breaker, What's your handle, come back , 10 - 4 Good buddy, Over & Out )
Maybe meet at Bothwell service station? Time tba.
Looking forward to this one should be a highlight of our season. Thanks to all involved in the organisation!

All the details will be posted later this week when I've recovered from spending two weeks in Ireland. About Friday, I reckon.

Sadly I'm not going to be able to take my boat. Funds are to weak due to kids Birthdays. I did have a little boat fund going but that went out of the window when eldest Daughter borrowed my mobile for 2 weeks
If anyone has any spare room and doesn't mind a cat funt I'd be happy to oblige as ballast

Thanks to all those working hard to make this a success.
I did express an interest very early on and it is still our intention to be up for the weekend from the South Coast. Do I need to contact the HM individually with my details or will someone do a collection of all our details and liase with HM in one go?
I have an Opti so this is looking like THE cruise of the season.
If anyone else is travelling from the South let me know as you may want to formate on the way up
Thanks again guys
Steve

Hi, other boat is going to be taken by my brother in law, it's an XS 540. (brother in law has a thing for Convoy so he will be delighted to be coming. No doubt the Convoy theme tune will be payed to death on the way. )

Think it's the Viking blood, a chance to visit new land's. Don't worry our wifes are coming to keep us in check so no other Viking shenanigans when we make land fall.
