The RIBnet Gathering - North Wales & Isle of Man - weekend 6/7 June 2009

North West Ribsters are planning a trip from Conwy to the Isle of Man to coincide with the TT races.

The plan is to leave Conwy on Saturday and return same day and then do a run round Anglesey on the Sunday but open to all suggestions.

We're also planning on doing maybe a poker run or something to tie up with the Thundercat racing which is in Conwy the weekend of June 20th/21st.
Thundercats have said there will be a cash prize for the poker run and a beach party on the saturday night.

If you need further info, pm myself or GED.

All welcome.

Dave,
as per messages we should be up for it, will knock back the Orkney week till August to allow us to come if it goes ahead.
Because of distance we will probably book a house for a week and come down for a short holiday, taking the boat out the relevant days if weather is good enough.
Will look for accomodation after the new year and confirm, the TT sounds good.
What do you mean by "hotspots"? Is Angelsey not adequately charted?

Sounds good, we're happy to come. Bruce I've replied on your thread re Orkney, be good to join you if it comes off, done a lot of diving in the flow, the Nothern Isles sounds excellent, (sorry to go slightly off thread).

I made the, probably incorrect, assumption that the trip was 6th June to coincide with the TT that the TT was 6th June?

Yep, there was a clue in the title but they're a bit slow down on the Llyn so to help him out, here's the link to the TT website.

http://www.iomtt.com/tt-2009.aspx

12 boats interested so far. GED is organising boat storage and the marina at the Conwy end and can give advice on local accomodation. We'll try and organise some fuel at the IOM for those that need a top up. Distance is 55nm. There will be plenty of help with launching and recovery.

One of the bigger ribs will be carrying a mechanic and act as sweeper boat.

There will be a plan B if the weather's iffy.

As long as I get the SR fixed up (touch wood) by then I'm in, if that's ok? Will only be doing the TT Run though as it's close to my little lads birthday.
Just need to work out how far I can get out of 2 22l tanks.

What a great idea. Subject to work, will be up for this, representing the Southerners.

I have been looking for something different from the normal Solent and South Coast. Nearer the time, I will be looking for advice on accomodation annd safe boat storage for the Friday and Saturday nights.

I'm in Prestatyn, wouldn't mind tagging along if I can fit it in around work.
