this weekend
Weather looks like it is going to be settled for a few days so we are off with the boat. Anybody about up our way? Thinking of heading to the small isles in the morning.

This weekend
Fantastic weather, went out to the Black Isles, back through the sound of Luing where the 8 year old took this photo looking to Scarba, must teach her to get the horizon level! Equally idyllic in Lock Melfort on Sunday.

Another new argyllite, where are you based?
Don't think I have seen another Destroyer apart from Tony's knocking about the top end of Argyll so assume you are further down?
Working on the video but couple of pics here...

Based south of Oban Only got the RIB in July so still exploring the local area.
Was interested to see the "mast" on the back of your RIB, spoke to Sue Richardson at Humber and she said it wasn't one of their's. Am in process of putting an outboard bracket on back for a get me home engine so not really any space for an A frame at the back , thought your mast looked a good idea for a nav light/ aerial. Can you let me know where you got it?

Hi puffin how far south of Oban? Lovely pic looks like sound at the entry to Loch melfort, a bit of a 'race' in the water. As I am taking my boat out this w/end I wont see you on the water this year but hope to bump into you someday.
Cheers Billy

The mast and outboard bracket are specials that I either altered or CAD drew and had made.

Have already got the outboard bracket from Gaelforce. Would you mind sharing the design for the mast? I would presume the transom for a 5.8 and 6.0m Destroyer are identical.
As in previous post, based near Seil.

We probably know some of the same folk if not each other, lots of folk from work live near Seil.
Puffin is just a bit of an unfortunate name for anyone Oban based, the business is not exactly the most popular of folk in the area with anyone!

Ah....... Name was outwith my control, was overruled by the kids. Afraid its all down to "Hiccup Horendous Haddock The Third" the viking hero of a series of childrens books by Cressida Cowell. His boat was called The Hopeful Puffin! At least I managed to get it shortened to Puffin!

Send me an email address to send the drawing and I'll do so. If you can't open CAD drawings (DWG format) let me know and I can convert it to something a little less exotic you can read.
I know a couple more folk with RIBs in the area but they are pretty inactive but it would be nice to have a group of folk for runs, it always better with some company
