This Weekend - Cherbourg

Afternoon All

Is any one here taking part in BIBOA's day trip to Cherbourg. Gary Tickner is organising the event to leave from the Solent at 9am and spend the afternoon having lunch and a few beers in Cherbourg before returning at 5pm to the solent, Sounds like a good day out.

I spoke with Peter Lightfoot yesterday - he's keen to go, but I can't make it as his crew. I've still got chores to do to build up my brownie points!

Hi Richard

Keep building up those points, I've just spoken to Peter. Looks like i will be going just got a few things to sort out. Aaron who came with us to the Channel Islands says he will go with Peter so he now has some crew for the trip. Looks like the weather is going to be good. See you soon for a beer.

Morning All

The cruise was a great day out, caught up with a lot of people i've not seen for ages and met some new members of BIBOA which was good. Started off in bright sunshine then 30 miles from Cherbourg we ran into thick fog which caused problems for some of the boats, We had no radar so we had to take it a bit easy. A few members nearly god mown down by ferry's and things but we all made it in one piece. Had lunch and a look around the town then left a 5.30 for the solent, Arrived back at 8 pm after a few stops on the way and went to cowes for the night for a few drinks, Slept on the boat and felt very ill the next day.
