Ventnor for Lunch Sunday 3rd July 2011

Hi Guys
As the tides are good and the weather's looking even better, We are intending to go to Ventnor for lunch tomorrow.
We'll probably arrive at about 12.30 and head for the Spyglass for Lunch.
Anyone wanting to join us will be most welcome.
Trev

Hope you do better than me yesterday. I only managed 3 Mackies in an hour's bait catching and then traveled 30 miles to catch a Doggi for the rest of the day's fishing .

Trevor

Hope you had a good trip The tides and weather this weekend were spot on for a trip to Ventnor We were there on Saturday and then carried on clockwise round IOW with coffee in Cowes. Later met up with Tim G in the East Cowes marina. Perfect day on the water

We didn't make it to Ventnor in the end - two hungry teenagers persuaded me that the Sloop up Wooton Creek would be more child friendly - and closer! They were probably right as the carvery as always was massive and good value!

We then went to see Neil Harvey not catching many fish off the forts before dropping into Ryde for an ice cream and to see the hovercraft "taking off". The free 20 minute short stay mooring at Ryde is much more conducive to a quick stop for an ice cream or a coffee than paying over a fiver in Cowes.

What a great day to be on the water!

No, but I heard about a group of lads mucking around with speedboats over by the Forts on Sunday. One fell off his speedboat and was run over by it. The prop gashed his face/head and he later died as a result.

Can't find any more information about it other than I read on a fishing forum.

My heart goes out to his family and friends.
