Ventnor - Sunday 2 May

Although the weather forecast is not great, I'm going to rely on the Met Office pessimism and assume that it's going to be better than they say.

Bogi and I and Mrs A (hopefully!) are planning on having lunch in Ventnor where the tides are just right for midday onwards. We'll be leaving Poole Harbour entrance around midday so aim to be in The Spyglass by 1.00pm.

Anyone who wants to join/meet us is more than welcome - despite the late notice!

Well: we (Bogi and I) didn't make Ventnor ..... but we made Yarmouth ....

and there was nobody there! .....

well: a lack of RIBs (save for some brave souls from UKPowerboat Charter out of Christchurch).

I thought that RIBs were for all weathers so when we were blown sideways in the air off a couple of waves, it's what we were meant to do .....!

Mind you there was one WAFI who tried to take out half the harbour in a sideways manoeuvre under power (was he trying to turn around or exit the harbour?) that only narrowly avoided disaster.

Poole and Christchurch Bays were as flat as anything on the way back: we managed 45kts across most of both and it was only The Solent and the expectation of a choppy return all the way that caused us to call the retiurn passage into the CG with an estimated 1hr journey time. In fact managed 30mins!

... so where were you fair weather boaters?

Glad you had a nice time, I'm going to venture out this afternoon and try a bit of fishing if the wind doesn't get much worse.
