Well, we had a cracking day. It was flat calm & hazy as we left Whitby. We had a steady run out for about 10 miles, fished a few marks & caught 50 BIG mackies, we were chucking the "little" ones back. A couple of small codling, gurnard & haddock got thrown back in for another day. Half of the Mackies are now in the freezer for over winter, & the other half went on the barbie or in the smoker last night. Friends & neighbours helped us polish 'em off.
Does life get much better

Well done on a successfull fishing trip. Our Mackies have all but gone now, but Cod are starting to come in around the Solent with a few 10lbers caught over the last week.
I have had a few Rays this year. Here's a couple of Thornbacks, My nippers first one.
