Final Update for me.
I shall definately be launching from Warsash at 1000 hrs. (Managed to get the sprog to rush his paper rounds).
I will then meet up with anyone in the Cowes/Calshot area.

Went to have a look at the western end of the Solent at about 16.00, not too rough and certainly navigable! With approximately the same conditons tomorrow I will certainly be up for it
Have we settled on a calling channel, and who do we call for the various RVs (Calshot, Cowes & Yarmouth)

i guess its going to be a tad on the windy side, but if the sun pokes out, it should be great for photos so we're still good for go. Will probably be launching at about midday and I expect we'll make our way up the island coast towards cowes to meet you head on.
I'll be monitoring channel 77 unless a better alternative is suggested.

Channel 77 is the channel.
I'll hear you as I've got a good old Icom 421 that is a really good receiver. Its been fitted proffesionally.

Who cares, its why we have RIBs. Just takes a little longer to get places in the rougher stuff.

Andy,
Not too sure. Where was the intended meeting place in Cowes or just off shore ?
I don't think Tim specified an actual location. I personally don't fancy paying landing fees for Cowes and Yarmouth. When the Cowes stop might only be a short one. But if we are stopping in Cowes for Tea and Tiffin then I don't mind.
Hopefully Tim will come back online and guide us in the right direction.

Reading Nashers last post looks like he was intending to go to Cowes for refreshements.
I take it the RV point is next to the Red Funnel landing point. Nasher showed me that one earlier this year.
Might be handy if people do meet there that someone carrys a Handheld Radio and listens on Channel 77 so any stragglers can call up and see if its worth landing.
I shall probably hail up if I turn up and your all rafted up already.
Don't want to waste my landing dues when I'm going to be burning plenty of tenners as it is.
I'm just looking forward to the grub at Yarmouth.

OK guys the LAmpton ribsters are ready to rock & roll
Our ribs being:
a Ballistic 6.5 with Etec 175 known as Lynx
an Osprey 6.0 with Opti 150 known as Galaxsea 3
a XS 7.0 with Opti 225
a Parker 750RS with CMD 320 known as Seahawk 4
are already on the water and we intend to leave LA about 8 AM just before LW hits LA. Weather permitting we will get to Haslar well before 10.
There will be 2 persons on each rib
Tim, if for any reason we decide not to make/complete the trip I will call you on your mobile

Andre,
Best of luck. If you make it I think you will have negotiated some exciting conditions. I shall admire you all for that. I've a feeling its going to be very lively off Selsey Bill, but you might be lucky if its slack tide.
