I have just phoned Yarmouth harbour to let them know around 15 ribs will be arriving around 1215 to 1230 tomorrow. They said that "speedbird" had already popped in to let them know ( thanks speedbird whoever you are ) and that space would not be a problem.

Had a quick blast over to Yarmouth with Landlord and stopped for a visit at the Wheatsheaf. Chris / Tigga's booking is logged and they are expecting a few RIBs for Nachos - very understanding that numbers are difficult to predict. The fuel berth is back in operation again (cut off in the bad weather for some days) - I think Landlord was saying the price / ltr was quite good. I missed out last weekend (fuel berth was still shut) and had to fill at the Haven - 1.58 / ltr!!! I also told the HM we were coming - loads of space for all.

lol. I genuinely got stooped by a harbour master once. He said 'last night your boat was doing 70mph in the harbour'

He wasn't impressed when I said fat chance it will only do 70mph on the motorway!
oh and the boat was in the M3 last night sir!

£1.58 per litre sound pretty reasonable to me for fuel berth prices, I have paid as much as £1.68 per litre last year.

The trouble Chris is we have been spoilt by being in Venezuela - we could get 6 Bolivars to one dollar on the black rates. One bolivar would buy 14 litres of fuel!!

84 litres of fuel for 61 pence, that's 0.72p per litre if my calculations are right. Maybe I can afford to run a large motor cruiser after all.

It really was amazing - Chavez set the price for the "Chavistas" (people of the Barrios) and that was why he got re-elected every time. Not sure if it is still like that since he died.

Not actually - the derivation of that comes from the Romani word Chavi which means child. Used to describe puerile behaviour / dress. Word was first seen in 19th century and highlighted again in 21 century media. See Wiki!

I was originally going out early to head into Lymington to meet up with the "small" guys.
However, my crew can't make it early, so will now join up with you off Brownsea.
I have 12 other seats if anyone fancies a blast!
Steve

Would love to join the Poole group and head up to the Solent, but having only just dropped the engine and drive back in the boat, tomorrow will be the first time it's actually given a proper test!

So I'll stay on the safe side and remain local until I've given everything a thorough test, and hopefully join in on a future trip. You might see me around Poole Harbour though in the morning, hopefully not begging for a tow back to the marina!
